NHL Stanley Cup Odds: A Full Weekend’s action before the Playoffs begins

The NHL regular season comes to a close next Friday, April 14, so this will be the last full weekend of action we have before the playoffs begin. That there are still questions to be answered across both conferences tells you just how tight things are across the board. Sure, there are a couple of teams that have emerged as legitimate Stanley Cup favorites, but for the most part, things are pretty wide open. Heading into the final full weekend, we thought it would be good to look at the teams that are currently in, and what their NHL championship odds are.

Updated 2023 Stanley Cup Odds, picks, favorites & dark horses before the weekend games

Eastern Conference

Boston Bruins 125 points (+320)

The President’s Trophy winners will, rather unsurprisingly, go into the playoffs as the favorite to win it all, but will their regular season dominance carry over?

Carolina Hurricanes 109 points (+850)

The Metropolitan Division crown is still up for grabs, but the Hurricanes are in the driver’s seat with a 3-point lead.

New Jersey Devils 106 points (+1000)

One of the more surprising teams of the season. You have to wonder if they are now playing with house money.

New York Rangers 103 points (+1175)

The Rangers are rounding into form rather nicely, going 7-2-1 in their last 10. Might that be a sign that they are gearing up for the postseason?

Toronto Maple Leafs 102 points (+900)

Another very good regular season for the Leafs, but they have been a disaster in the playoffs in recent years. Is this the season they turn it around?

Tampa Bay Lightning 96 points (+1425)

Given what this team has done in the playoffs in recent years, they need to be viewed as a dark horse.

Florida Panthers 87 points (+2900)

The Panthers hold one of the Wild Card spots, but it’s tight down there, so no guarantee that they will be in.

New York Islanders 87 points (+4100)

The Islanders are cling to Wild Card life, with the Penguins breathing down their neck, just 1 point back.

Western Conference

Vegas Golden Knights 104 points (+1200)

The Golden Knights have the lead in the Pacific Division, but as you will see, they are far from safe at the top of the division.

Edmonton Oilers 103 points (+950)

Momentum seems to be on the side of the Oilers, who are an impressive 9-0-1 in their last 10 games. Winning the West seems likely.

LA Kings 100 points (+1800)

The Kings have cooled off a little of late, but a 100-point regular season is certainly not anything to be sneezed at.

Colorado Avalanche 98 points (+580)

The Pacific is close, but the Central Division is ridiculous. The Avs hold the tiebreaker and are the favorite to emerge from the Western Conference.

Dallas Stars 98 points (+1425)

Momentum is on the side of the Avalanche at the moment, but the Stars are right in there, very much in the hunt for the Central crown.

Minnesota Wild 98 points (+1825)

The Wild are in a 3-way tie for first in the division, but they are also sliding, losing 2 in a row.

Seattle Kraken 94 points (+2900)

In just their second full season in the NHL, the Kraken are on the brink of their first playoff appearance. Can they hang on?

Winnipeg Jets 89 points (+4200)

The Jets have a massive game against the Calgary Flames coming up. If they lose that one, they drop out of the Wild Card.
