The coming week in the NHL features several chances to get some value in the betting markets. Between back-to-backs and the opportunity to get quality teams at more favorable prices than usual, bettors will have no shortage of chances to find solid bets on the ice. These three games in particular, are worth looking at for bettors looking for NHL betting opportunities over the week to come.
Thursday: Stars vs. RangersOne of the best games on the NHL schedule for the week will take place in New York, when the Dallas Stars visit the New York Rangers. Both of these teams have their sights set on the postseason this year, and we should see a competitive matchup as a result. That could mean good things for bettors, as the odds should be pretty tight either way.
Normally, both of these teams are more heavily favored against inferior opponents, but that will not be the case in a more evenly-matched affair. Dallas will be coming off of a road game in New York against the Islanders just a couple of days before this contest. But they certainly have the talent to pick up a win at Madison Square Garden on Thursday if the Rangers do not play their best.
Thursday: Predators vs. Canadiens
With hockey being as physically grueling as it is, back-to-backs are always a great opportunity to get some value betting the NHL. That will be the case on Thursday night, as the Montreal Canadiens host the Nashville Predators. Nashville will be coming off of a game the night before, and bettors may be able to find some value when betting on the Habs in this game as a result.
Under circumstances where these teams were on more equal footing from a rest perspective, the Predators would likely be heavily favored in a game like this one. However, playing on Wednesday night could level the playing field to the benefit of a Canadiens team that is just 8-10 at home on the season. This should be a tight contest, and the relatively fresh legs of the Habs could make the difference.
Sunday: Coyotes vs. Jets
Another interesting back-to-back opportunity North of the border features the Winnipeg Jets, as they will host the Arizona Coyotes on Sunday. Betting on Coyotes road games has been incredibly difficult this season, as Arizona has won just six of their 26 games away from home on the year. But Arizona playing on Saturday and Sunday consecutively could turn this game into one worth betting on.
There have been plenty of instances this season of the Coyotes being road underdogs of more than the standard 1.5 goals on the puckline. We could see that again here against a Jets team that is a very strong 16-6 at home on the year. If we do, it might be a good idea to lay a higher-than-usual puckline number with a Jets team that has been good at home all year and should stay that way against a road-weary Coyotes squad.
