Best English Premiership, Top 14 and United Rugby Championship Games to Bet this Week

The NRL wrapped up their 2022 season last weekend with the Penrith Panthers claiming a 28-12 win over the Parramatta Eels to take home their second straight Premiership. The Eels continue to have the longest active Grand Final drought dating back to 1986, and it’s the third most amount of time before Premierships in league history.

Even with the NRL done for the year, there’s still plenty of rugby betting action coming up for months. The English Premiership, the Top 14, and United Rugby Championship are all coming into play for which clubs are going to be contenders this season. Here are the games of the week across those leagues so you can get get ready to bet against their Rugby Betting Odds.

Weekly Rundown of the Top Rugby Games to Must Bet On | October 5th Edition

Leicester Tigers (-7.5) vs Sale Rugby Union FC Sharks, English Premiership

The Tigers are -7.5 favorites on Saturday despite taking their medicine in a 58-11 loss to undefeated Saracens last week. There’s some value on the Sharks here as they have won three straight in the head-to-head series, and six of the last seven. For whatever reason, Sale has success against the defending Premiership champions, but Leicester is a completely different team at home, where they have a 14-game win streak.

RC Toulonnais (-22.5) vs CA Brive, Top 14

The #5 and #6 teams on the Top 14 ladder meet up when Toulon hosts Brive. Toulon is a massive -22.5 favorite for Saturday’s meeting, even though their largest margin of victory this year has been 15 points. Brive has shown the ability to play things close even in losses, falling by four to Lyon, five to Montpellier, and six to Olympique as part of their 2-3 start to the year.

Stade Toulousain (-14.5) vs Asm Clermont Auvergne, Top 14

Toulouse seems to be the cream of the Top 14 ladder this year as they try to get back to their glory from their 2021 Top 14 championship. Toulouse beat last year’s champion Montpellier 19-17 in a huge clash last weekend, so you wonder if there’s some letdown on the home team’s side this Saturday? Auvergne handed Rochelle their first loss of the season two rounds ago, so can they slay another dragon?

Lyon Ou (-4.5) vs Union Bordeaux Begles, Top 14

There is a logjam of 2-3 teams on the Top 14 ladder, so just because Lyon sits 12th in the standings right now, they are just a win away from getting to as high as fifth place. Bordeaux is also 2-3 (along with nine other clubs), so this is a real dust settler. Have to give the home team the edge in a toss-up game.

Leinster (-15.5) vs The Sharks, United Rugby Championship

There are still four undefeated teams left in the United Rugby Championship but not after top-seeded Leinster (3-0) hosts the Sharks (2-0) on Saturday. Leinster has a dominant 42-10 win over Benetton in their only home game so far this season; while both the Sharks wins have come on the road, it’s also tough going away for a third straight match.
