UEFA Champions League: Porto Hosts Juventus & Sevilla Battles Dortmund

Juventus -101 Vs Porto +289 | UEFA Champions League Round of 16

For the first time since 2017, Portuguese Liga squad Porto takes on Italian Serie A team Juventus. Although Porto is the home team, the oddsmakers have made Juve the favorite.

At first glance, the odds look more than fair. The home team has drawn in their last 3. All games were against teams much worse than Juventus. But Ronaldo’s side hasn’t been as sharp as we might expect.

On Feb. 9, Juve and Inter Milano drew 0-0. Then on Feb. 13, Napoli upset Juventus 1-0. The favored road squad could dominate Porto, no doubt, but the recent form suggest Juventus struggles to get more than a goal in this match.

If that happens, expect Porto to either pull off the upset or force a draw. Which seems more plausible? Both teams head into this match playing excellent defense. Juventus, knowing the next match is on their pitch, will settle for a 0-0 or 1-1 draw. So will we.

Champions League Pick: Draw

Dortmund +200 Vs Sevilla +127 | UEFA Champions League Round of 16

  • When: Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 3:00 pm ET

Most expected Dortmund to offer favorite’s odds. But the home team in this match is on fire while the road team most definitely isn’t.

In their last 5 matches, Dortmund has drawn once, lost twice, and won twice. The draw was against Hoffenheim. The two wins happened versus Augsburg and Paderborn 07. The two losses were against Freiburg and Monchengladbach.

Gladbach and Freiburg are two terrific teams. Monchengladbach is a Champions League Round of 16 participant. Freiburg has 31 points, 2 points less than Dortmund, on the Bundesliga Standings.

But although Dortmund’s isn’t as bad as the record indicates, Sevilla has dominated. On Tuesday, Sevilla searches for their tenth straight win. Sevilla hasn’t lost since Jan. 12. Among their more stunning victories was a 2-0 beat down of Barca in the Spanish Copa del Rey

The home team looks poised for a 1 to 2 goal victory. Sevilla is on fire and Dortmund’s form, although not horrible, doesn’t stand up. Back Sevilla to get the win.

Champions League Pick: Sevilla
