Europa League: Man U versus AC Milan Tops First Leg Matches

2021 Europa League Round of 32 – Leg 1

  • When: Thursday, March 11

Thursday, March 11th Matches

  • Young Boys +403 / Ajax -169

Ajax has won 4-of-5. They played great in their last Europa battle, beating French Ligue 1 team Lille 2-0. Young Boys haven’t won since a 2-0 victory over Leverkusen on Feb. 25. The Boys haven’t lost in their last five, either. They’ve drawn in three straight. Give Young Boys a shot. Ajax should win, but the odds make the underdog an overlay.

Soccer Free Pick: Young Boys

  • Glasgow Rangers +196 / Slavia Prague +140

Slavia Prague has battled the better opponents. On Dec. 10, they beat Leverkusen 4-0. In their first match versus Premier League squad Leicester City, they drew. Slavia dominated Leicester in the second match, beating the EPL team 2-0. Glasgow is in great form, but Prague is a massive step up.

Soccer Free Pick: Slavia Prague

  • Villareal -108 / Dynamo Kiev +304

La Liga squad Villareal heads into this off a couple of losses. Dynamo Kiev has a couple of wins and a draw in their last three. Although Kiev has lost their last couple of games versus a top league team by a combined 0-7, those two teams were Barcelona and Juventus. Villareal is neither.

Soccer Free Pick: Dynamo Kiev

  • Arsenal -109 / Olympiacos +288

Olympiacos has won two in a row. Both matches happened in the Greek Super League, though. Arsenal plays in the Premier, a much better soccer league. The Gunners drew with Burnley in their last. Before that, they beat Benfica in a Europa League game and blasted Leicester 3-1. Arsenal should win.

Soccer Free Pick: Arsenal

  • Shakhtar Donetsk +407 / AS Roma -172

AS Roma is an underlay in this. Shakhtar has won 3-of-4. Monchengladbach beat them last November. But the last time they faced a Serie A team, Inter Milano, they drew. We think backing the draw or taking a shot on Donetsk are the best plays.

Soccer Free Pick:  Shakhtar Donetsk

  • Molde +1 ½ (-169) / Granada -1 ½ (+122)

Molde is a good team. The Norwegian squad drew with Hoffenheim on Feb. 18. They beat Hoffenheim in the second Europa match. Granada isn’t in great form, but they offer the smartest bet in this match. The La Liga squad has a shot to beat Molde by 2. That’s the best bet because -169 is too much of a risk even if we get 1 ½ goals.

Soccer Free Pick: Granada

  • Dinamo Zagreb +1 ½ (-138) / Tottenham -1 ½ (+104)

Is Tottenham a goal and a half better than Dinamo Zagreb? Asking the question three weeks ago would lead to a no answer. But since an upset loss to West Ham on Feb. 21, the Hotspur has won 4 in a row. Tottenham is finally playing to their potential. Laying it.

Soccer Free Pick: Tottenham

  • AC Milan +398 / Manchester United -156

In the top Europa League match on Thursday, it feels like soccer handicappers and oddsmakers are reading too much into Man U’s weekend victory over Man City. The Sky Blues were on a ridiculous winning streak. It was a matter of time before the steak ended. United is a good team, they’re actually better than AC Milan, but the odds suggest they easily beat the Serie A squad. AC’s odds make them an overlay.

Soccer Free Pick: AC Milan
