Top 2022 MLS Matches to Bet On: NYCFC vs Texas, Seattle vs Nashville Highlights Wednesday Action

The busy period for MLS teams continues this week as 22 teams have mid-week games before playing again on the weekend. All of those teams will have played three games in less than 10 days by the end of Sunday. In some cases, teams are playing six games in three weeks as the league catches up on postponed games.

The conference leaders, New York Red Bulls in the East and LAFC in the West are off until the weekend. However, seven of the top 10 teams are in action, including an enticing cross-conference matchup between contenders. Let’s take a look at the top games to bet on for Wednesday’s MLS Betting action.

Top Major League Soccer Betting Games for Wednesday, July 12th

NYCFC Heads to Texas

The biggest game this week features NYCFC, third place in the East, traveling to FC Dallas, fourth-place in the West.  NYCFC made history on Saturday as the first team to draw three penalty kicks in a 4-2 win over New England. Meanwhile, FC Dallas played a wild 2-2 draw with rivals Houston Dynamo with both teams scoring in stoppage time.

As an added bonus, this game features the two top scorers in the league. NYCFC’s Taty Castellanos leads the league with 12 goals on the season, including two last Saturday. Dallas’ Jesus Ferreira also scored Saturday and is right behind Castellanos with 11 goals on the season.

These teams have played just six times since NYCFC joined MLS in 2015. Four of those six games ended in draws, including the last two meetings. NYCFC won at home in 2018 and FC Dallas won at home in 2015.

NYCFC plays some wild affairs. Their last three games have finished 4-4, 2-2 and 4-2. They have scored in nine straight games and have allowed 11 goals in five games after posting six straight shutouts from May 1-28.

Dallas has scored in all but three games this season but they have just four shutouts. They have allowed multiple goals in six of the last eight games, winning just once in that span.

At MyBookie, FC Dallas is a slight favorite at +155 with NYCFC at +160 to take all three points.  A draw is listed at +260. Over 2.5 goals is -141 and under 2.5 goals is +118.

Two Teams Needing to Bounce Back

Saturday was a disaster for both the Seattle Sounders and Nashville SC. The Sounders taunted rivals Portland Timbers by raising their CONCACAF Champions League banner, and promptly got stomped at home 3-0. Nashville meanwhile traveled to expansion side Charlotte FC and returned home with bruised egos and a 4-1 loss.

Only two points separate fourth place from ninth place in the West as FC Dallas sit in fourth with 28 points. Nashville enters the week in seventh place with 27 points, one point ahead of Seattle.

Nashville has only two wins at home this season, in beautiful new Geodis Park. Four of their seven home games have ended in a draw, including July 3 against Portland. Hany Mukhtar, who scored a penalty kick in Charlotte, leads the team with 10 goals scored on the season.

Seattle is 3-1 with four draws on the road this season. They will have to face Nashville without starting center back Jackson Van Ragen who will be suspended after being sent off against Portland. Seattle had just two shots on goal in the loss to Portland.

At MyBookie, Nashville is the favorite at +100 with Seattle listed at +270 to win the match. A draw is listed at +245. Over 2.5 goals is listed at -107 and under 2.5 goals is +119.
