Top 2022 MLS Matches to Bet On: Seattle v Sporting KC, Austin v Dallas, San Jose v Galaxy

The 2022 Major League Soccer regular season will hit its halfway point this weekend, but despite the time that teams have already been given, none have established themselves as clear-cut favorites in their respective conferences.

New York City FC leads the East while Los Angeles FC headlines the West, but neither team has more than a two-point gap on the teams closest behind; as a result, the intensity for fans, players, and bettors alike is at an all-time high.

Here are the best MLS games to bet on this weekend. Let’s get right to it so you can get ready to bet against the MLS Betting Odds.

MLS Weekend Games Preview – June 23rd Edition | Soccer Betting Analysis

Seattle Sounders vs Sporting Kansas City

The Sounders started off the season in extremely poor form compared to their second-place finish in 2021, but they have done an admirable job rebounding since, climbing up to seventh in the West with three wins, one draw, and one loss in their last five matches. The return of the previously-injured Raul Ruidiaz, a ruthless striker who has scored five goals in eight matches, has coincided with their resurgence, although the team as a whole just seems to be operating at a much higher level than before. Seattle, despite only being 6-2-6 on the year, also has a positive goal differential, which is a great indicator of future success.

Kansas City, much the opposite of Seattle, started the season poorly and has continued with that form since, reaching a 4-4-9 record and 12th place in the West; to their credit, they won their last match against Nashville SC 2-1, but they still have not shown enough quality or consistency to garner any faith on the sportsbook. KC’s biggest issue is its defense, which has allowed the most goals in the entire league and forced them into a -13 goal differential, essentially single-handedly spelling the team’s downfall.

Austin FC vs FC Dallas

Austin FC is third in the West with 27 points and an 8-3-4 record despite only being formed in 2018. They have had a mixed bag of results as of late, winning twice, losing twice, and drawing once in their last five matches, though they still have the second-best goal difference in the West and capable players all over the pitch.

Dallas is just behind Austin in the West at fourth with a 7-4-4 record, though their recent results have not lined up with their overall season trajectory. Dallas lost its last match against the Vancouver Whitecaps 2-0 and has dropped three of four, though they still have one of the best defensive records in the league and will cause problems for their in-state rivals.

San Jose Earthquakes vs LA Galaxy

Oddsmakers think that this match will be extremely close, which gives LA bettors a great chance to maximize their profits on a team that has been far superior over the course of the season. The main problem that they will face is the Earthquakes’ attack, which, despite the team sitting in last place in the West, is truly fearsome.

San Jose’s downfall is its defense, which is by far the worst in the entire league. LA also has a notorious goal-scorer in Javier Hernandez leading its line, which could prove to be the difference in the affair.
