  • When: October 25 – 31
  • Where: Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna, Austria

The Vienna Open (also known as Erste Bank Open) is known for featuring some of the biggest tennis stars, and the 2021 edition is no exception. Starting on Monday, October 25, the 2021 Erste Bank Open will welcome Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev, Matteo Berrettini, Casper Ruud, Hubert Hurkacz, Félix Auger-Aliassime, Jannik Sinner, and Diego Schwartzman.

Andrey Rublev, who won the tournament in 2020, will not be attending this year; however, there’s still plenty of talent left in the field. That includes Tsitsipas and Zverev, who lead the way as two highest-seeded players.

Looking at the field, the 2021 Erste Bank Open will feature seven of the top-12 rated players, and while a stacked field, it’s easy to understand why Zverev and Tsitsipas are the main favorites. However, if you were to pick between the two, Zverev might come off as a better option.

That is largely due to Tsitsipas’ poor performance at Indian Wells, where he crashed out of the QF against world no.29, Nikoloz Basilashvili (4-6, 6-2, 4-6).

Similarly, Zverev hasn’t had the best showing, crashing out of the QF against world no.31 Taylor Fritz; however, he has previously achieved a lot – namely semi-finals at the 2021 U.S. Open.

If you’re looking to bet on one of the favorites, you can’t go wrong with Zverev. However, if you’re looking for an outsider, Cameron Norrie might be worth a look.

Norrie is coming off a victory in Indian Wells and has previously made the 2021 San Diego Open finals. Although he hasn’t achieved much in Grand Slam tennis tournaments, Norrie has been showing exceptional form in 2021 and holds a 14/5 record in Masters 1000 events.

2021 St. Petersburg Open Tennis Analysis & Predictions | ATP Betting

  • When: October 25 – 31
  • Where: Sibur Arena in St. Petersburg, Russia

Having decided not to defend his title in Vienna, Andrey Rublev opted to defend his home tournament title at the 2021 St. Petersburg Open. The Russian enters the event as by far the highest-rated player (no.6) and no.1 seed, ahead of Denis Shapovalov (no.14) and Roberto Bautista Agut (no.20).

Rublev has recently attended the Kremlin Cup, where he left a lot to be desired, with a Round of 16 exit. Before that, he also suffered an early exit from the Indian Wells, losing against Tommy Paul (4-6, 6-3, 5-7) in Round of 32.

Rublev’s last tournament achievement happened in San Diego, where he made it to the semis, only to lose against Cameron Norrie. Rublev’s last notable deep run happened in August when he lost to Zverev in the Cincinnati Masters finals.

Given his poor form, Rublev might not be the most appealing betting pick to win the 2021 St. Petersburg Open, and he arguably isn’t. Instead, we have to give some more attention to Aslan Karatsev.

The fourth-highest seeded Karastev has impressed of late and won the 2021 Kremlin Cup. He also reached the finals of Indian Wells Masters doubles, QF in San Diego, and looked decent at the 2021 U.S. Open (R3).

What’s more, Karatsev has done well on hard courts this season (23/9), showing growth from 2020 (7/4) and 2019 (7/3). However, it’s easy to forget how good he was in 2018 when Karatsev won 47 hard court matches out of 56 (47/9).

Karatsev might not be the highest-rated player at the tournament, but he is in excellent form and a solid bet to win the 2021 St. Petersburg Open.
