ATP 250 Events Betting Previews & Predictions: February 14-21
2022 Qatar ExxonMobil Open Betting Picks
For the 2022 Qatar ExxonMobil Open, there are two tennis players we’re interested in backing – Dan Evans and Marton Fucsovics.
Dan Evans spends a lot of his time in nearby Dubai these days and has been spotted practicing on the outdoor courts, so he should be set to do well. Furthermore, he had started the season well, winning all three of his matches at the ATP Cup before he made the semis in Sydney.
Unfortunately, he suffered a devastating Felix Auger-Aliassime at the Australian Open, but he had his chances, so there’s no harm in that. Admittedly, Evans has both Roberto Bautista Agut and Marin Cilic in his half of the draw, but Evans has yet to lose to either of them.
Marton Fucsovics showed solid form in Rotterdam last week, and his record (5-2) at this tournament isn’t bad either, with two quarter-finals runs in the last two years. Furthermore, he took a set off Novak Djokovic in the past at this venue.
Even though Fucsovics will need to step up to deliver and win the tournament, he’s a good bet as one of the outsider picks.
Pick: Dan Evans
Pick: Marton Fucsovics
2022 Delray Beach Open Betting Picks
Reilly Opelka stands out as a solid pick for the 2022 Delray Beach Open as the recent Dallas Open finalist. In Dallas, Opelka had shown he has an exceptional serve, slamming 84 aces in three matches before he had to admit defeat to Brooksby (6-7, 6-7).
Even though the conditions won’t be optimal to how Opelka likes to play, many big servers won the Delray Beach Open in the past, including Ivo Karlovic, Sam Querrey, and Marin Cilic. And did we forget to mention that Opelka already won here in 2020?
If Opelka can keep his momentum going, he will be tough to beat, and he’s definitely at the same level as the favorites. Maxime Cressy could threaten him, but he wasn’t that great in Dallas, so it’s fair to say that he won’t look much better one week later.
Pick: Reilly Opelka
2022 Open 13 Provence Betting Picks
The 2022 Open 13 Provence will be an exciting event, providing one of the fastest playing conditions on the ATP Tour on the Marseille courts. As a result, we have to take a look at players who do well in faster games, and one name that stands out is Ilya Ivashka.
Admittedly, he’s a complete longshot pick, but he has a big serve that should prove difficult to break in these conditions. What’s more, Belarus is known for coming forward to the net if presented the opportunity, which should help.
He has already shown his propensity for speedy conditions by reaching the last 16 in Wimbledon in 2021, and he made semis in Nur-Sultan. He has the potential to upset the field, although Ivashka will have to fight through a very competitive draw, so we would keep our stakes low.
Pick: Ilya Ivashka
