ATP & WTA 2022 US Open Odds Update: Must Bet 2nd Round Matches

There have already been several upsets through the first two rounds of the US Open, shifting the outright betting odds considerably. Top seeds Simona Halep and Maria Sakkari are out on the women’s draw, while Stefanos Tsitsipas lost his first-round match on the men’s side. Let’s take a look at some of the most interesting upcoming matches to wager on and the updated US Open Betting Odds.

Must-Bet Matches

  • Borna Coric (+100) vs Jenson Brooksby (-125)

Borna Coric was a top-10 betting favorite before the US Open, but this was largely due to his sudden rise after winning the Cincinnati Masters. Coric lost in the first round of the Canadian Open two weeks prior and had mostly been playing ITF Challenger events as of late.

Brooksby, meanwhile, is a 21-year-old American on the rise. He’s ranked No. 43 in the world and, at 6-foot-4, has a great range and serve.

Brooksby hasn’t had much success in recent tournaments but was a finalist in Atlanta and can compete with anyone on the hard court – with a home crowd advantage. Take Brooksby in this one.

Women’s Outright Odds

  • Iga Swiatek +300
  • Caroline Garcia +900
  • Coco Gauff +900
  • Aryna Sabalenka +1100
  • Liudmila Samsonova +1100
  • Bianca Andreescu +1400
  • Ons Jabeur +1400
  • Serena Williams +1400
  • Jessica Pegula +1600
  • Madison Keys +2000
  • Veronika Kudermetova +2200
  • Belinda Bencic +2800
  • Petra Kvitova +2800
  • Paula Badosa +3300
  • Danielle Collins +3300

Must-Bet Matches

  • Karolina Pliskova (+110) vs Marie Bouzkova (-138)

Easily the most competitive second-round match, Karolina Pliskova, and Marie Bouzkova should be a tight affair with one of the two talented Czech players going home early. The more experienced Pliskova is ranked nearly 20 spots higher than Bouzkova, but the latter has been playing well as of late.

Bouzkova defeated Coco Gauff in the first round of the Cincinnati Masters but was forced to withdraw from the tournament before her Round of 32 match. Bouzkova hasn’t played much during the hard court season leading up to the US Open, but was a finalist at the Prague Open in July and reached the quarter-finals at Wimbledon.

Pliskova and Bouzkova have played against each other twice and split those matches. Pliskova won their only hard-court match in Brisbane in 2019. This should be a three-set match, with Pliskova emerging victorious as the slight betting underdog.

  • Iga Swiatek (-700) vs Sloane Stephens (+450)

The world No. 1 Iga Swiatek looked impressive in her opening round victory over Jasmine Paolini, while Sloane Stephens surged back down a set to defeat Greet Minnen 1-6, 6-3, 6-3. Swiatek is looking to win her second Grand Slam this season after winning the French Open, while Stephens is a former US Open champion, having won in 2017.

This will be one of the most anticipated matches of the second round, and for a good reason. Swiatek has the chance to become the next big star in women’s tennis, and an American Grand Slam winner stands in her way, with the support of a boisterous home crowd.

Swiatek and Stephens played for the first time two weeks ago at the Cincinnati Masters. Swiatek won the match 6-4, 7-5.
