Top MLB Series to Wager On the Weekend: Yankees vs White Sox Betting Analysis

After losing three out of four to the Yankees last weekend in Chicago, the White Sox will be looking for revenge as they head to the Bronx for a weekend series. Both of these teams are favorites to make the American League playoffs. Let’s take a look at the weekend series, as this will be a good series to place some wagers on the MLB Odds.

Yankees vs White Sox – Will We See Some Revenge in the Bronx? | MLB Betting Picks

Series Opener

On Friday night, the White Sox will send a veteran starter to the mound, while the Yankees will send one of the biggest surprises in the league to the hill. Dallas Keuchel has struggled this season for the Sox. He has a 2-3 record with a 5.54 ERA. Last weekend, he threw well against the Yankees as he went five innings and didn’t allow an earned run.

For the Yankees, Nestor Cortes will get the start. Cortes has taken the league by storm this season. He’s 2-1 with a 1.35 ERA. He has a 0.85 WHIP. Cortes has struck out 49 batters in 40 innings this season. He beat the Sox in his last start, going eight innings, striking out seven and allowing one earned run.

We’ll see if the Sox lineup is able to get some better looks against Cortes this time around.

Saturday Matinee

On Saturday afternoon, we’ll see the White Sox turn to a veteran starter who was just called up, while the Yankees will send one of their young up-and-comers to the mound. The White Sox recently signed Johnny Cueto. After some time in the minors, the Sox called him up. He’ll be making his first start of the season on Saturday.

For the Yankees, Luis Severino will get his turn. Severino is 3-0 on the season with a 3.63 ERA. In his last start, he beat the Baltimore Orioles, going six innings with one earned run and seven strikeouts. Severino missed almost all of last season after arm surgery.

Sunday Night Baseball

Quite possibly the best Sox starter this season will get the ball for Sunday Night Baseball, as Dylan Cease will pitch for Chicago. Cease is 4-1 with a 3.09 ERA. He has struck out 67 batters in his 43 innings pitched this season. Now that Cease has command of his pitches, he’s becoming the star that many predicted he would be.

Jameson Taillon, who is also 4-1 on the season gets the start for the Bronx Bombers. He has a 3.28 ERA. Taillon was a highly touted prospect in the Pittsburgh Pirates system prior to being acquired by the Yankees.

Bombs Away

We’ll be anxious to see what Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton do this weekend. The duo has combined for 22 home runs on the season. Both of them have been able to stay healthy this season, and that has been an issue for both of them in the past. When these two are hitting, the Yankees are very hard to beat. We’ll see how the White Sox handle these two, and if they make things hard for them, will the Yankees be able to score runs?
