UFC 277: Pena Vs Nunes 2 Betting Odds, Analysis & Picks

On Saturday at UFC 277, Amanda Nunes hopes to regain the title belt she lost to Julianna Pena in one of the most anticipated rematches in recent UFC history. Before falling to Pena, most mixed-martial-arts fans considered Nunes one of the best fighters in the world. Amanda is a huge chalk to regain her strap. Also on UFC 277’s main card, Brandon Moreno puts his championship title on the line versus Kai Kara-France. See below for UFC Odds, analysis, and free picks for the main card fights at UFC 277.

Magomed Ankalaev -550 vs Anthony Smith +400

Smith has a couple of physical advantages. He’s an inch taller and has a longer reach by an inch. But although Smith will use both his height and reach, it won’t matter.

Ankalaev hasn’t lost since Paul Craig forced Magomed to submit in a 2018 fight. Since then, Ankalaev has won eight straight, including beating Ion Cutelaba twice. The chalk can win this either via the stand up or on the ground. Magomed gets the nod.

UFC 277 Pick: Magomed Ankalaev

Alexandre Pantoja -180 vs Alex Perez +155

There’s a reason so many UFC fans believe Perez wins this bout. The underdog lost his last fight but it was versus Deiveson Figueiredo and it was in a championship bout.

But although Perez has fought some decent brawlers, Pantoja has been the more active fighter. The contest versus Deiveson happened in November 2020. This is Perez’s first fight since then.

Pantoja fought twice in 2021, beating Manel Kape via unanimous decision and besting Brandon Royval via submission.  Pantoja also has a 2-inch reach advantage. The chalk wins.

UFC 277 Pick: Alexandre Pantoja

Derrick Lewis +110 vs Sergei Pavlovich -130

26-9 Derrick Lewis has fought some of the best at UFC. Lewis has lost 2-of-3. But one of the losses was in a championship bout versus Ciryl Gane.

Sergei Pavlovich is 15-1. The favorite in this hasn’t fought the same quality opponents that Lewis has faced. Pavlovich, though, has a 5-inch reach advantage and is 12-1 via technical knockout or knockout. The favorite wins.

UFC 277 Pick: Sergei Pavlovich

Brandon Moreno -210 vs Kai Kara-France +175 | UFC Flyweight Championship

Underdog Kai Kara-France is a quality mixed martial arts fighter. After a 2020 loss via submission to Brandon Royval, Kara-France has stepped it up, beating Rogerio Bontorin, Cody Garbrandt, and Askar Askarov.

But although Kara-France has fought well, he’s up against it on Saturday night. Brandon Moreno is 3-0 via TKO or KO and 11-0 via submission. He takes on Kara-France after a three-peat classic versus rival Deiveson Figueiredo. Kara-France is a step down from Figueiredo. Moreno wins.

UFC 277 Pick: Brandon Moreno

Julianna Pena +220 vs Amanda Nunes -270 | UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship

Many believe Nunes is a slam dunk to win back her belt. But if that were the case, how did Amanda lose in the first place?

Champions Julianna Pena beat Nunes via submission. What will Amanda do to change the outcome? Not only must we ask that question before backing Nunes, but we must also accept underlay odds.

No doubt, Amanda can win this. But at -270, she’s a play against. Pena has the belt and isn’t likely to give it up that easily. The champ offers excellent odds to defend her title.

UFC 277 Pick: Julianna Pena
