Men’s College Basketball Week 17 Underdogs to Bet On the Weekend

Written by on March 4, 2022

As we enter the final weekend of the college basketball regular season, we’ll see a lot of games that will have conference championship implications.

Teams will be playing for regular-season titles and will also be playing for higher seeds in their conference tournaments. Although lines have yet to be released, we’re going to give you our NCAAB Betting predictions for who some of the top underdogs will be for this Saturday’s slate of college hoops action.

Top Underdogs for Saturday’s College Basketball Matches (March 5th)

(25) Alabama Crimson Tide @ LSU Tigers

Nate Oats’s teams live and die by the three-pointer. While Alabama is a very athletic squad, they have struggled this year shooting the three.

Things won’t be very easy for them on Saturday, as they travel to Baton Rouge to take on the LSU Tigers. LSU is one of the top defensive teams in the country. Alabama will have a hard time getting clean looks at the basket.

Although many feel that Alabama is a team that can make a long tournament run, we don’t see them being favored in this one.

(7) Kentucky Wildcats @ Florida Gators

The Kentucky Wildcats are one of the most talented teams in the country. John Calipari’s squads always seem to get better as the season goes on. As we’re approaching tournament time, Kentucky is one of the favorites to win the NCAA Tournament.

The Wildcats will travel to Gainesville to take on the Florida Gators. Florida always plays well at home, and they own a victory over Auburn at Exactech Arena.

The Gators are 12-4 at home and have won seven of their last 10. They’re making a late push to make the NCAA Tournament.

Even though Florida always plays well at home, we still think they’ll be an underdog on Saturday. Keep an eye on this spread, and if Kentucky is too big of a favorite, you better lay some cash on the Florida Gators.

(16) USC Trojans @ (17) UCLA Bruins

After USC was thoroughly embarrassed at home by the Arizona Wildcats earlier this week, many think that they don’t stand a chance against the UCLA Bruins. UCLA was a favorite to get to the Final Four when the season started, but the Bruins haven’t played up to expectations this season and have had some ups and downs.

While they have a very talented team, the Bruins haven’t looked like a team poised to make a Final Four run. USC is very talented, but they have been inconsistent all season. At 25-5, they’re currently ahead of UCLA in the Pac 12 standings.

Even though USC has a better record and is leading UCLA in the conference race, we think that USC will be the underdog in this one. With that being said, we don’t see this spread being very big. UCLA will be favored because they’re the home team and because they need this win to tie USC in the conference race.

Monitor this one, and if UCLA is too big of a favorite, we think that you can make some money if you bet on the USC Trojans.
