Top WNBA Betting Picks of the Week – July 1st Edition

Written by on July 1, 2019

If you take a look at the current WNBA standings, and specifically those for the past 10 games of each team, you see a league where parity is very much a real thing. Sure, there are a couple of teams who are setting the tone in a big way in the early going of the season, but for the most part, it looks as though things are going to be incredibly tight.

While that makes handicapping these WNBA games a little tougher, that is all part of the fun. We are going to look ahead at the coming week to see what we have on the schedule, while hopefully picking some WNBA Betting winners along the way.

Top WNBA Betting Picks of the Week – July 1st Edition

Eastern Conference Standings

  • 1-Washington Mystics 9-3
  • 2-Connecticut Sun 9-4
  • 3-Chicago Sky 6-6
  • 4-New York Liberty 5-7
  • 5-Indiana Fever 5-9
  • 6-Atlanta Dream 2-8

Western Conference Standings

  • 1-Las Vegas Aces 7-5
  • 2-Seattle Storm 8-6
  • 3-Los Angeles Sparks 6-6
  • 4-Minnesota Lynx 6-6
  • 5-Phoenix Mercury 5-5
  • 6-Dallas Wings 4-7

Chicago Sky at Las Vegas Aces – Tuesday

The Chicago Sky are seeing their positive start to the season begin to go up in smoke, as they are back to .500 after starting the season at 6-3. They have now lost 3 in a row and will not be given any favors by the schedule maker, with the next stop on their schedule being a trip to the desert to face the Las Vegas Aces.

The Aces are sitting at the top of a very tight Western Conference, sitting with a 7-5 record. It has been home court where they have excelled this season, with Las Vegas going 5-2 in their own building. You have to like them at home against a Chicago team that is just 2-4 on the road this season.

New York Liberty at Seattle Storm – Wednesday

Wednesday sees another East versus West battle, with the New York Liberty heading to the opposite side of the country to face the Seattle Storm. The Liberty are sitting 4 games off the pace in the Eastern Conference with a 5-7 record. They are showing some signs of turning things around, though, as they come into this one on the heels of back to back wins.

The Liberty are 2-3 on the road, which means that they are likely going to be in a tough position on the road versus the Seattle Storm, who are 5-1 in their own building in the early going. This should be another home win for the Storm.

Indiana Fever at Dallas Wings – Friday

Friday night opens with a match-up between a pair of teams looking for a reversal of fortune after getting off to a slow start this season. The Fever are moving down the standings in a big way in the Eastern Conference after losing 4 in a row to slip to 5-9 on the season with just 2 wins in their last 10 games.

The Fever shouldn't be one of your WNBA Betting picks of the week.

The Dallas Wings are sitting at the bottom of the Western Conference with a record of 4-7. The West is tight, though, which means they are just 2 ½ games off the lead. All 4 wins that the Wings have picked up come at home and I like them to get another win here.

Washington Mystics at Las Vegas Aces – Friday

This may very well be the best game on the schedule this week, with both conference leaders going head to head in this one. The Washington Mystics have the best record in the league, winning 5 games in a row to surge out to a 9-3 start, which has them a half game up on the Connecticut Sun in the Eastern Conference.

They are 5-2 on the road and will be up against a Vegas team whose record we already discussed earlier in this piece. We should be looking at a close one here, but I am on the Mystics to get the road win.
