It is a huge weekend we have on tap at Martinsville, as we are now in the penultimate week of the NASCAR season. Across all three series, we will see the field cut from 8 to 4 prior to the final race of the 2021 season. The weekend starts with a doubleheader on Saturday, with the Truck and Xfinity Series races running on that day. That will be followed by the Cup Series race on Sunday, which we will cover in a different article. For now, we are going to focus on the other two series to see who might win and move on to the final 4 so you can keep betting against the NASCAR odds.
NASCAR Xfinity Series and Truck Series Betting Events for the Week
Truck Series – United Rentals 200 – Saturday at 1 PM EST
We haven’t had a race In the Truck Series since October 2, so it will be good to see the drivers back in action after that break. The previous two races in the Round of 8 have delivered winners that have no impact on the playoff standings. That will likely change this weekend, though, as it’s all about getting into that final 4.
John H. Nemechek (+270) is in as the favorite for this race, and for very good reason. Nemechek has 5 wins already on the season. Nemechek, though, has gone 7 races without a win, although he has been on the podium 3 times in that stretch.
Sheldon Creed (+400) also needs to be seen as a threat here as he looks to repeat as champion. He has a couple of wins in the playoffs already, but he has not been in great form over the last 3 races. He has also not been particularly impressive at Martinsville.
Even though Todd Gilliland (+1000) is not in the running in the playoffs anymore, he is still in as one of the favorites for this race. He had a win at Martinsville in 2019, so he has to be considered a potential winner in this one.
Xfinity Series – Dead On Tools 250 – Saturday at 6 PM EST
It is the same story in the Xfinity Series this weekend, with 4 drivers set to be cut prior to the final race of the season. It is an incredibly tight race at the top of the driver standing, so expect some craziness in this race.
The favorite for this race is Ty Gibbs (+330) who is not in the playoff running given that he only races part-time in the Xfinity Series. He has raced 17 times in the Series this season and has picked up 4 wins in that time, so he is always a threat.
Austin Cindric (+450) is looking to move on and take a run at repeating his championship from last season. He has had no luck in the playoffs this season, but he has had a trio of 2nd place finishes in the last 6 races. He finished 10 at Martinsville last season.
Justin Allgaier (+600) is sitting in the top 4 heading into this race, but he is under a bit of pressure given that he has not won since early May. He was 2nd at Martinsville last season, so perhaps he can get back to winning ways this weekend.
