Top Golf Tournaments to Bet On: PGA Tour Must Bet Events for 2022

The PGA Tour schedule picks back up with the first two events of 2022 on the island of Hawaii. Surprisingly, the fall wrap-around season accounts for just over 20 percent of the 2021-22 season. We will take a peek into the major tournaments taking place this season and the early favorites to win those prestigious events so you can plan your bets against the PGA Tour odds.

Rundown of the Biggest PGA Tour Events of 2022

The Masters – Monday, April 4th thru Sunday, April 10th

The first major championship of the season takes place at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, GA. Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama became the first professional player from Japan to win a major, holding off rookie Will Zalatoris by one stroke.

According to mybookie.ag, Jon Rahm (+850) is the early betting favorite to win his first green jacket. Dustin Johnson looks for his second jacket at +1000 and Collin Morikawa (+1000) rounds out the top three aiming for his third major victory at the age of 25.

PGA Championship – Monday, May 16th thru Sunday, May 22nd

The second major championship of the year is taking place at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, OK. for the PGA Championship. This will be the fifth time Southern Hills has hosted the PGA Championship and eighth major title. Phil Mickelson is the defending champion, becoming the oldest player (50) to win a major title in Tour history.

Rahm (+1200) again is the early betting favorite to win the Wanamaker Trophy. The trio of Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, and Morikawa (+1400) are at the top of the odds board as favorites to win. All three of those players have PGA Championship victories to their names.

The US Open – Monday, June 13th thru Sunday, June 19th

The third and final major in the United States takes place in June at The Country Club in Brookline, MA. One of the oldest country clubs in the country, The Country Club is hosting the U.S. Open for the fourth time and first since 1988. Rahm won his first major championship at this tournament in 2021 with a one-shot victory over Louis Oosthuizen.

Rahm (+900) is the clear-cut betting favorite this early in the season, but there are a handful of players you can grab over at mybookie.ag right behind him. McIlroy +1100 is second in line, looking to win his second U.S. Open title. D.J. (+1200), Brooks Koepka (+1400), Bryson DeChambeau (+1600), and Xander Schauffele (+1600) round out the early top-5 betting favorites.

The Open Championship – Monday, July 11th thru Sunday, July 17th

Golf’s final major of the year returns to the historic St. Andrews Links (Old Course) in St. Andrews, Scotland. The Old Course at St. Andrews has hosted The Open Championship 29 times, making 2022 the 30th Championship at the venue. Morikawa captured his second major victory and first Open Championship in 2021 with a two-stroke victory over Spieth at Royal St. George’s Golf Course.

Rahm (+900) remains the betting favorite over at mybookie.ag. Koepka, McIlroy, Johnson, Jordan Speith, and Morikawa are all favored at +1400 if you want to lay some lunch money on either this early in the game.
