NBA 2021 Week 6 Power Rankings Betting Analysis: Warriors Keep their #1 Spot

NBA 2021 Week 6 Power Rankings Betting Analysis: Warriors Keep their #1 Spot

Another week of NBA action is in the books, and while it is still very early in the season, we are seeing some teams begin to flex their muscles and show that they might just eb a championship contender. We have also seen enough from each team now to understand that some may not be as good as advertised, and that a slow start may in fact be a sign of bigger problems. Like we said, though, there is a long way to go, so don’t expect the current NBA Power Rankings to stay the same the rest of the way. For now, let’s take a look at the current rankings after 6 weeks of the season so you can keep placing your bets against the NBA odds.

2021 NBA Betting Update: Power Rankings Update for Week 6

Top 5

  1. Golden State Warriors – Another great week for the Warriors sees them maintain their spot at #1. They are now on a 4-game winning streak and have won 9 of their last 10 games to move to 15-2 on the season and the top spot in the Western Conference.
  2. Phoenix Suns – After a 1-3 start to the season, there was some talk about the Suns run to the final last season being a flash in the pan. That conversation has stopped now that the Suns have put together a 12-game winning streak.
  3. Brooklyn Nets – Perhaps lost in the run by the Suns, the Nets streak of form is one that clearly shows them to be a contender. They have now won 10 of their last 12 games and are tied with the Bulls for the lead in the Eastern Conference.
  4. Chicago Bulls – They may be sitting atop the Eastern Conference standings right now, but there are still plenty of fans waiting to see if this team is for real. The Bulls ended last week with back-to-back wins to get to 12-5 on the season.
  5. Utah Jazz – The Jazz actually lost some ground in the race for top spot in the West, which is not that surprising given what the Suns are doing at the moment. Still, the Jazz have won 3 in a row and are a perfect 6-0 in conference play.

Bottom 5

  1. San Antonio Spurs – The Spurs remain exactly where they were last week after a light schedule that saw them play just 2 games last week. That they lost both of those games justifies their ranking in the bottom 5 again.
  2. Detroit Pistons – Now that the Pistons have rookie sensation Cade Cunningham back in the lineup, might we see them go on a more positive run of form? The young man certainly looked very good, helping the Pistons move up a spot in the rankings.
  3. Orlando Magic – With 5 losses in their last 6 games, the Magic deserve to be down where they are, but they did put in a positive showing with a win on the road to the New York Knicks last week, which was enough to move them up a spot.
  4. New Orleans Pelicans – We do have to cut the Pelicans a little bit of slack right now, as they have gone without the services of Zion Williamson to this point in the season. Whether they get a bump on his return remains to be seen.
  5. Houston Rockets – With just 1 win on the season and a 14-game losing streak happening right now, is it really any surprise that the Rockets are in the cellar. This may be the only consistent ranking we see all season.
