NCAA Basketball March Madness Dark Horses Betting Picks and Analysis

Even though the brackets haven’t been set, we know certain teams, Gonzaga, Arizona, Kentucky, among a few others will be favored to win the National Championship.  But there will be several teams that could surprise, make a deep run and maybe pull off the upset, and win it all. Let’s have a look at their March Madness Odds.

Dark Horses to Bet On March Madness Tournament | Men’s College Basketball Betting Picks

Villanova (+2400)

The Wildcats are on the verge of winning another Big East title and could be peaking at the right time.  Nova’ will likely be seeded as a No. 3 or 4 and is capable of taking down one of the top seeds.  The Cats have experience with three senior starters and coaching experience as Jay Wright has won two titles in the past five tournaments, so he knows how to get his players ready for the Big Dance.  The Villanova Wildcats are number one in the country in free-throws, which could be the difference of an early exit, or a trip to the Final Four.  By the time the brackets are set, Nova’ could be around +1500 so best to buy now before the odds drop.

Arkansas Razorbacks (+4700)

The Razorbacks have the talent, experience and depth to surprise a lot of teams in the tournament.  They’ll likely be a No. 4 or 5 seed and have aspirations of going deeper than last years’ appearance in the Elite Eight. Arkansas has beaten 3, top-13 teams this season, including a couple of the tournament favourites in Auburn and Kentucky.   The Razorbacks have been getting hot at the right time winning 13 of 14 with their lone loss by just a single point.  Expect their odds to drop before the brackets are set.

Tennessee (+3700)

For a team that has never made it out of the elite eight, and was knocked out in the first round last year – you might wonder why even consider Tennessee a dark horse.  The Volunteers have lost just one game in February and this season, beat 3 teams considered to be tournament favorites in Arizona, Auburn and Kentucky.  On the defensive side, Tennessee has been solid creating turnovers leading to transition points.   With the ball, freshman Kennedy Chandler leads the Vols with nearly 14 points per game while Santiago Vescovi is shooting 39% from beyond the arc, 6th best in the conference.  There’s nothing flashy about this team – but they’ve earned every win.  And with lights shining at their brightest, they could upset their way to New Orleans.
