Why bet on the Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs went down on a last second TD versus the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1 of the preseason, but rather than looking at the 17-16 loss as a whole, they will likely be looking at how much they dominated in the first half when their starters were in. They had a 13-3 lead at the half in that game, and the defense looked to be very much in tune, which is certainly nice to see at this early stage of the season. The Chiefs went with 5 different QB’s versus the Seahawks, and it was Aaron Murray out of Georgia who stood out, going 3-5 for 52 yards. I expect to see him get more time on Saturday night as the Chiefs try to settle on a number two behind Alex Smith.

Why bet on the LA Rams

Last week was a special one in LA, as the Rams returned home to play in front of an enthusiastic crowd of 90,000-plus. The ended up leaving happy too, as the Rams were able to overcome the Cowboys in a 28-24 win. It was a feel good night for everyone involved, but there was always a feeling of inevitability about that one. This second game at home will provide more of a test, as a lot of the emotion and excitement from the first one will have abated. Rookie QB Jared Goff looked a little shaky, and will likely get a little more playing time in Week 2.

The Rams are a 3-point favorite in this one, which I think is a pretty fair betting line. This figures to be a close one, and I would not be surprised to see a low score. I’m taking the Chiefs to win this one by a field goal.
