With just two weeks left in the NFL season, there are a growing number of teams who have nothing left to play for. While these teams may be getting ready to head off into the offseason, there is still the possibility that they could play a role in the playoff picture. A perfect example of that comes on Thursday night, when the Philadelphia Eagles have an opportunity to upset the postseason plans of their division rivals, the New York Giants. At 10-4, the Giants appear to be a playoff lock, but they will desperately want to hang on to the number 2 seed that would see them get a first round bye once the playoffs get under way. There are a couple of teams that could run them down if they slip up at all in the final two weeks, which is why you can bet that the Giants will not be coming into this one thinking that they already have it in the bag. The bookies have this one close, with the Giants in as a 3-point favorite on the NFL lines.

Why bet on the New York Giants?
This is a team that has not been given much respect this season. Even after they recently rolled to 6-straight wins, the consensus was that those victories came against very poor teams, and literally meant nothing. That streak ended with a loss to the Steelers, where the Giants were dominated in every facet of the game. This appeared to back up the claims about this team, but they have responded with back to back wins against the Cowboys and the Lions, both of which are teams that are playoff bound. The Giants are playing some great defense this season, which bodes well against an Eagles team that has routinely struggled to move the ball in recent weeks. Why bet on the Philadelphia Eagles?
The Eagles are ending this season with a whimper, and are coming into this one on the back of 5- straight losses. Their season officially ended on Sunday with a loss to the Ravens in a game that was the best that the Eagles had played in a while. They got within a point with a late TD score, and decided to go for the win with a 2-point conversion, which ultimately failed. While the offense has looked a little better in the past 2 weeks, it is still just not good enough to get the job done. They are right in the middle of the pack at a little over 22 PPG. The Eagles have already lost to the Giants this season, but have won the last two meetings in Philly.NY Giants at Philadelphia Free Pick: New York Giants
The Giants have done most of their winning at home, and are just 3-3 on the road, but I think theyget above the .500 mark with a win in this one, as I expect the defense to have a huge game. New York Giants 24 Philadelphia Eagles 10MyBookie NFL
