Why Titans over 8 is a good bet?
Based on what happened last season, the Titans could be on the cusp of a breakthrough. Marcus Mariota wasn’t one-hundred percent healthy at any point during the season. Although injured for most of the season, he still managed to complete 68.9% of his passes. He also threw more touchdowns, 11, to interceptions, 8.
Almost as important? 2018 was a transition year on offense. The Titans hired Matt LaFleur to install a new offense. LaFleur and Mariota had some growing pains. Now that LaFleur is the head coach at Green Bay, Mariota and new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith have a chance to really get the offense going.
Smith coached Titan tight-ends. He and Mariota have a great rapport. Not only that, but Smith will tweak LaFleur’s offense just enough to incorporate the tight-end. When Mariota’s excelled, it’s when he’s been able to throw to the tight-end.
Why Titans under 8 is a good bet?
Tennessee’s offense should be way more effective, but the Titans play in what many feel is the deepest division in football. The Indianapolis Colts are a Super Bowl contender. The Jacksonville Jaguars should be much better this season after an excellent NFL Draft and after signing Nick Foles to play quarterback.
The Houston Texans should also be formidable. The Texans have a shot at making the playoffs as well. They’re deep on both sides of the football. The Titans might win 9 games if they played in any other division. In the AFC South, it could be hard for them to win 8.
Tennessee Titans Total Regular Season Wins Final Analysis
The Titans chances of winning more than 8 games would be much better if the teams in the AFC South didn’t play the teams in the NFC South this season. Tennessee must take on Atlanta, Carolina, Tampa Bay, and New Orleans.
They take on the Falcons and Panthers on the road. Not only that, but they must also battle the Chiefs and Chargers. The schedule is ridiculously difficult. Also, even though Mariota is a good quarterback, he’s probably the fourth best quarterback in the division behind the Colts’ Andrew Luck, the Jaguars’ Nick Foles, and the Texans’ Deshaun Watson.
Tennessee could surprise. More than likely, they win only 7 games.
