Tevin Farmer vs Guillaume Frenois

  • Where: Arlington, TX
  • TV: DAZN

29-4-1 Tevin Farmer hasn’t lost since Jose Pedraza beat him way back in 2012. That’s a string of 23 straight wins. Farmer battles a boxer on Saturday with a stunning record.

Guillaume Frenois is 46-1-1. Although the record looks great, a deeper dive reveals some issues with the sterling record. First, he has limited power. Of his 46 victories, he has only knocked out 12 opponents. Second, almost every fight has happened in France or the UK.

This is Frenois’s first bout in the United States. The fact Guillaume is 35 means Tevin could make this a short night for the top French fighter.

Boxing Betting Pick: Tevin Farmer

Maurice Hooker vs Jose Ramirez

Maurice Hooker is undefeated with a 26-0-3 record. The last draw happened in 2016 versus Darleys Perez. Since then, Hooker has beaten Cristobal Cruz, Courtney Jackson, Terry Flanagan, Alex Saucedo, and Mikkel LesPierre.

Hooker’s got a crazy 80” reach. Ramirez is a tough fighter. He’s undefeated at 26-0-0. But, there’s no way a fighter with a 7 ½” reach advantage should lose. Hooker wins this.

Boxing Betting Pick: Maurice Hooker

Youriorkis Gamboa vs Roman “Rocky” Martinez

  • Where: Baltimore, Maryland
  • TV: Showtime

Gamboa takes on Martinez in the warmup to the Davis-Nunez main event on Showtime’s Saturday card. Youriorkis Gamboa, 29-2-0, has won 3 in a row. Can he make it four in a row versus highly respected Roman “Rocky” Martinez.

Martinez has a decent record, 30-3-3. But, he drew with Orlando Salido and lost to Vasiliy Lomachenko in 2 of his last 3 bouts. Martinez fought and beat William Gonzalez in his native Puerto Rico in his last bout.

Both these guys are on the north side of 35 and neither has a real physical advantage. Which fighter takes this? Gamboa does because he takes less chances than Martinez does.

Boxing Betting Pick: Youriorkis Gamboa

Gervonta Davis vs Ricardo Nunez

21-0-0 Gervonta Davis hopes to continue as champion when he fights Ricardo Nunez. Nunez, 21-2-0, hasn’t battled the same caliber of fighters as Davis has. At 5’ 6”, Nunez is slightly taller than Davis.

Although highly skilled, Nunez’s style, constantly moving forward, is tailor-made for Davis. All Davis will do is take a step back and land one of his thundering overhand punches. If he can’t connect over Nunez’s gloves, Davis will throw straight punches right through Nunez’s defense. It’s tough to see Nunez keeping this one close.

Boxing Betting Pick: Gervonta Davis
