Top Boxing Matches to Bet On The Weekend | Oct. 1st Edition

Linus Udofia -2000 vs Xhuljo Vrenozi +900

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 2

Udofia isn’t your average British boxer. Most boxers from the UK are excellent technical fighters, but they don’t display much power. Udofia can do both. He’s got a record of 16 victories. 8 of those wins have come via knockout or technical knockout. Xhuljo Vrenozi has 17 wins and 3 losses. Vrenozi has knocked out 4 opponents. Don’t expect this one to last. So look for a round prop and make that your wager.

Boxing Pick: Linus Udofia

Germaine Brown -400 vs Jamal Le Doux +300

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 2

Germaine Brown has a decent 9-0 record. But he hasn’t fought anyone of note. Not only that, the favorite has 3 knockout wins from those 9 victories. Jamal Le Doux has 8 wins and a loss. Although Le Doux shows just 4 knockout wins on his record, he’s won his last 4 bouts via TKO. Le Doux seems like he’s figured things out. He’s the play in this competitive boxing match.

Boxing Pick: Jamal Le Doux

Mikael Lawal -500 vs Steven Ward +350

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 2

Favored Mikael Lawal is an undefeated 13-0 cruiserweight who most expect will crush Steve Ward. Ward has a ridiculously bad 15-40-3 record. So it’s difficult to understand why Ward is even fighting Lawal. Rumor has it, Lawal will face Benoit Huber on Saturday night. Perhaps, the rumors are true and haven’t confirmed. If Ward fights, Lawal is an overlay at -500. If Huber ends up taking Ward’s place, and we may not know until Friday night, consider still back Lawal because even though Huber is 7-1 with 5 knockout victories, he hasn’t fought anyone of note.

Boxing Pick: Mikael Lawal

Krzysztof Twardowski +900 vs Richard Riakporhe -2000

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 2

Riakporhe is one of the United Kingdom’s better pugilists. Although only 11-0, the 6’ 5” cruiserweight has great power as evidenced by his 8 knockout wins. On Saturday, he faces 9-2 Polish fighter Krzysztof Twardowski. No doubt, British boxing is behind how fighters are taught in Mexico and the United States. But British boxing is light years ahead of boxing in Poland. Look for a round prop.

Boxing Pick: Richard Riakporhe

David Avanesyan -1000 vs Liam Taylor +500

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 2

Liam Taylor hopes a victory over David Avanesyan will send his career up a notch. Taylor is 23-1-1 and heads into this after beating Tommy Broadbent in a July bout. David Avanesyan, as you might expect, is a much, much better boxer than Tommy Broadbent. The 27-3-1 welterweight from Russia has won his last 4 fights via KO or TKO. Avanesyan should add another loss to Taylor record. There’s a good chance David knocks out the underdog. So look for a round or TKO / KO prop.

Boxing Pick: David Avanesyan

Anatoli Muratov +1200 vs Chris Eubank Jr. -5000

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 2

Muratov has a fantastic record. The big underdog has 24 wins and 2 losses. Muratov has won 17 of his bouts via technical knockout or knockout. The problem? Anatoli has fought almost exclusively in Germany where boxing remains a secondary sport.

Chris Eubank Jr. is 30-2. He’s got boxing skills for days. He also has a lot of power because he’s knocked out 22 of his opponents. Eubank Jr. should decimate Muratov. Look for round odds.

Boxing Pick: Chris Eubank Jr.
