Into the Breach vs hellslayerz

  • When: Wednesday, April 13 – 15:00 CEST

Into the Breach and hellslayerz will clash on Wednesday, April 13, in Round 4 High Matches, in a match that will decide which of the two CS:GO teams will advance into the Elisa Invitational Spring 2022 playoffs.

Into the Breach come into this match with a 2-1 record, including a 2-0 sweep of Savage, a 2-0 victory against Young Ninjas, and a 1-2 defeat against Tricked Esports.

Hellslayerz hold the same 2-1 record with a 2-1 victory over MAD Lions, a 2-0 sweep of BIG Academy, and a 1-2 defeat against 777 Esports.

Results-wise, there is very little to separate Into the Breach and hellslayerz; however, the bookies seem to agree that hellslayerz have a better chance to win. They’re priced as favorites, while Into the Breach hold the unenviable tag of an underdog, with +110 odds.

The price makes sense, assuming smooya does not play for ITB, but since he is currently confirmed to play with the team, we would argue that this match is much closer to 50/50 than what the odds suggest.

Admittedly, smooya won’t be able to do all the heavy lifting by himself, but he has a fairly decent squad around him, namely Thomas, who has a 1.13 average performance rating.

On the side of hellslayerz, JW stands out as the best-performing individual with a 1.24 rating, while the rest of his team all hold a positive (+1.00) rating.

It will all come down to which team will show up on the day, and even though you could argue hellslayerz have looked better so far this tournament, we don’t expect this to be a one-sided affair. Take over 2.5 maps.

Prediction: Over 2.5 maps

BIG Academy vs KOVA

  • When: Wednesday, April 13 – 15:00 CEST

BIG Academy and KOVA will clash in the second match of the Elisa Invitational 2022 Spring Round 4 High Matches for a spot in the playoffs. Both teams enter this bout with a 2-1 record, but there is a good reason why KOVA are priced as favorites.

BIG Academy have so far won against 00Prospects (2-0) and ENTERPRISE esports (2-1) but lost against hellslayerz (1-2). Meanwhile, KOVA have won against Astralis Talent (2-0) and Anonymo Esports (2-0) but lost against the current league leaders, 777Esports (0-2).

KOVA and BIGF Academy have never met before, so it’s tough to say how they will match up. But based on what we saw from the two teams, we would prefer to be on the side of KOVA.

Admittedly, KOVA have not played as many games as BIG lately, and they are 2-4. But even though BIG Academy hold a 3-2 record over their last five, we have to remember that their wins came against much weaker opponents.

BIG might win their map pick and keep it close, but this match is KOVA’s to lose. Trust the Finnish squad to deliver and defeat BIG Academy!

Prediction: KOVA to win
