Betting Analysis for 2024 Byron Nelson Odds and Pick | MyBookie PGA Betting Preview of the Golf Tournament

2024 Byron Nelson | 7th edition of the Byron Nelson Byron Nelson
PGA Tour tournament
Thursday, May 2nd – Sunday, May 5th, 2024
Congaree Golf Club | Gillisonville, South Carolina

The CJ Cup Byron Nelson was recently completed, and it was an event that was missing most of the biggest names in this sport. Even though that was the case, the action on the golf course was still tremendous throughout the four rounds of that event.

Here is a look at the action that went down at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson and a look ahead at what’s to come in the PGA Championship later this month.

Pendrith Wins Title

Taylor Pendrith is a player that has been gaining some momentum on the PGA Tour, but he had yet to come away with a win either. That all changed this weekend at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson as he was able to come up with one of the most shocking wins in recent memory.

The conditions at TPC Craig Ranch allowed players to attack pins all weekend long, and there were some great scoring opportunities. Pendrith was able to cash in several different times, and he ended up shooting a 23-under 261 for the event.

It took another great performance throughout the day on Sunday as Pendrith needed everyone of his shots that allowed him to shoot a four-under 67. This was the 74th career start on the PGA Tour for Pendrith and it was the first time that he was able to walk off the 18th green as a champion.

This was an event that had just three players from the top 30 competing as most players are waiting for the Wells Fargo Championship and the PGA Championship.

The final round for this event had to be delayed by more than two hours and players had to compete in threesomes rather than playing with just one single person.

Kohles Falls Apart

Ben Kohles might have been able to finish in second place in this event, but he missed out on a golden opportunity to win this event. Kohles took the lead with back-to-back birdies on 16 and 17, but then disaster struck on the 18th and final hole.

After driving his ball into a greenside bunker, it wook Kohles a few attempts at a chip to finally get the ball on the green. A par putt would have kept Kohles in the mix for a playoff with Pendrith, but he ended up being the only player to bogey that hole throughout the day on Sunday.

It was a great day of golf for Kohles as he shot a 66, and he did it in front of a large contingent of fans. Kohles was making his 68th start on the PGA Tour, and this would have been his first ever PGA Tour win as well.

He also qualified for the Wells Fargo Championship next weekend, but missed out on an opportunity to qualify for other big events.

PGA Championship Preview

The Wells Fargo Championship is the next stop on the PGA Tour, and it’s always a massive event for the top golfers. While that might be the case, it’s time to start looking ahead to the PGA Championship that is coming in two weeks.

When looking at the odds to win the PGA Championship in two weeks, there is no surprise as to the betting favorite. That player would be Scottie Scheffler as he has odds set at +350 to come away with a title in that event.

There are going to be some other players and odds to check out as well, but it’s hard to ignore just how special Scheffler has been this year.

Those three golfers always seem to be the favorites every single weekend, but McIlroy and Rahm just can’t seem to track down Scheffler.
