Valero Texas Open Top 3 Betting Odds
The latest are the top three in terms of betting odds to win the event, and their recent form:
Rory Mcllroy +900
One of the best golfers in the world has gotten off to a very slow start in 2024. The 2nd ranked golfer behind Scottie Scheffler is 66th so far in FedEx Cup rankings. Rory went tied for 19th at the Players, which came after his 21st place finish at the Arnold Palmer. Where McIlroy has run into issues has been with his putting. He is 102 on tour with 0.036 strokes gained. His bread and butter this season has been driving distance, which is 3rd, at 313.7 yards.
Ludvig Aberg +1200
Aberg comes into the event ranked 9th in the FedEx Cup Standings for the year, and also 9th in the world. Aberg is a 24 year old from Sweden, who played his College Golf at Texas Tech. The folks from Lubbock are going to be out to root for him. Aberg was strong at his last event; which was the Players back in mid March. He finished that event in 8th. He has been solid driving the ball; more than 304 yards each time. He is 14th so far in strokes gained as well. Aberg is going to be really good in his career, but first things first – the event in San Antonio.
Jordan Spieth +2000
The 30 year old from Dallas is coming off a tough event at the Valspar in his last time out. He did not participate last week in Houston. In fact, he has missed his last two events, and even at the Arnold Palmer, his +1 was not something he was particularly pleased by. Spieth though has shown to be strong in April over his career, and if he can continue his strong putting, but get better with the drives, this is a course that could be generous for Spieth.
Others in Consideration:
-
Hideki Matsuyama +2000
-
Max Homa +2200
-
Matt Fitzpatrick +2500
-
Corey Conners +2500
-
Collin Morikawa +2500
-
Tommy Fleetwood +2800
-
Byeong Hun An +3000
-
Alex Noren +3000
2024 Valero Texas Open Final Betting Analysis
There it is. That is our Valero Texas Open Preview. Now it is time for our prediction:
We are going to go with two picks here. Our first is Jordan Spieth. He is very familiar with Texas, and has won this event before. We like his odds at 20/1. Spieth is our first pick. Our second pick is going to be the defending champion, and the guy that won it a season ago, and has twice in his career. That is Corey Conners at +2500. Seems like those are very generous odds for a guy that knows how to win here!
