The Belmont Stakes is taking shape. This Saturday’s race concludes the Triple Crown series for the year.

Right now, most believe it’s a four horse race among Sierra Leone, Mindframe, Mystik Dan, and Seize the Grey.

When it comes to betting the superfecta, finding the all important key horse is the best strategy.

Key Horse: Mindframe

In two races, Mindframe has dominated the competition. The Todd Pletcher trained runner dusted his opponents in the maiden score by 10 lengths.

Then in his second race, a 1 1/16 mile allowance, Mindframe took a backward step by running slower.

Still, he easily won, which makes Mindframe the key horse in the Belmont superfecta.

Sired by Constitution and from a Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense broodmare, Walk of Stars, Mindframe should get a decent trip 1 to 2 lengths off front running Seize the Grey.

When they turn for home, Mindframe will be there to run past the front runners.

Give the Pletcher horse the nod as the key to winning this year’s Belmont Stakes superfecta. 

Second Slot: Seize the Grey, Mystik Dan, Sierra Leone, Resilience, The Wine Steward

Without Fierceness, there’s a chance Seize the Grey gets another easy lead like the Lukas runner did when winning the Preakness Stakes.

If that happens, the Grey could go gate to wire with only Mindframe able to beat him.

Mystik Dan is a must use. The Derby winner showed his quality by finishing second in the Preakness.

The McPeek runner is one of the best of his generation. Keep on all your exotic tickets.

Sierra Leone has the talent to win the race. The trip could be tough again, though, because there plenty of pressers and closers in the race to back up on Leone as Flavien Prat makes his move.
