2024 MLB Season

Another week of Major League Baseball action.

This week is the Major League Baseball trade deadline, and will be the start of the final two weeks of the season.

We have some interesting games on task, and we want to take a look at some of the top Major League Baseball pitchers to follow for Week 18.

Here they are:

Writer’s Pitchers Picks for MLB Week 17

If Flaherty is going to get traded at the Major League Baseball trade deadline, this would be his final start in Detroit.

The right hander is 7-5 on the season, with a 3.13 earned run average.

Flaherty has struck out 133 batters and walked 19 on the season in throwing more than 106 innings on the season.

The Tigers are just two games under .500 on the season, and trying to make a mini push.

They get the first place Guardians to start the week, and Kansas City over the weekend.

Wheeler gets his first chance of the week against the New York Yankees.

What a game this should be.

Wheeler has been electric with the strikeouts this season, with 133 on the season, and just 37 walks.

Wheeler has thrown 123.2 innings on the season, and has a 2.70 earned run average.

His second start would come later in the week, as they head out on the road to take on a week hitting Seattle team.

Wheeler is a good one to watch this week.

Eovaldi will get a Cardinals team on Monday that simply has been in a big time struggle.

The Cardinals struggled all weekend against the Nationals.

St. Louis is finding themselves in the race, but fading fast.

Eovaldi is 6-4 on the season, and a 3.36 earned run average.

The fireball righthander has struck out 104 batters, and walked 26 on the season.

Eovaldi will then get a weekend game at home against the Boston Red Sox.

Gilbert is 6-6 on the season, but probably Seattle’s best starting pitcher.

He has thrown 139 innings, and struck out 132 batters on the season.

Gilbert and the Mariners need to get going, as things have evened up a little in the American League West.

Gilbert will face the Boston Red Sox on Monday, and then get a chance to take on the Philadelphia Phillies over the weekend.

That would be a big test for Gilbert, but we like his stuff.

Paul Skenes, Pittsburgh Pirates

The starting pitcher for the National League in the All Star Game – Paul Skenes.

The rookie out of LSU will look to get back on track following his first loss of the season.

That game came at home to St. Louis.

Skenes has struck out 97 batters, and walked 13 in just 74.2 innings this season.

He has been the ace for the Pirates this season, and a team that is still trying to contend for the wildcard in the National League.

Skenes would then get a home game against Arizona over the weekend to wrap up his week.

There is a look at the top pitchers to follow for Week 18 of the Major League Baseball season.

We are excited for these games and all the action this week.

Enjoy the games and best of luck with all your Major League Baseball action.
