2024 MLB Week 13

As the final week of June arrives, the action continues to move along in Major League Baseball.

Let’s take a look at some games for this week, and discuss some top pitchers to follow this Week 13 of the season.

Bryan Woo, Seattle Mariners

The 24 year old Woo is making his 8th start of the season.

Woo is 3-1 with a 1.67 earned run average.

He has thrown 37.2 innings, and struck out 25 batters.

Woo struggled in his last start, but the four prior to that, all went six innings, and held the opposition in check.

He will get the Rays in Tampa on Monday, and then his second start is at home on Sunday against the Minnesota Twins.

Seattle, and their first place standing is one of the bigger surprises in all of Major League Baseball.

Tanner Houck, Boston Red Sox

Houck is going to be getting consideration for American League Cy Young with his performance thus far in 2024.

While his record is just 7-5, he has thrown 96.2 innings, struck out 94 batters, and holds a 2.14 earned run average.

Houck will get the start on Monday at home against Toronto, and should be in line for a Sunday Start at home against the Padres.

Two offenses that can be fairly boom or bust.

Lance Lynn, St. Louis Cardinals

The 37 year old has given the Cardinals 75 innings so far in 15 starts this season.

He is 2-3 on the season with a 4.08 earned run average.

Lynn will start the week on Monday at home against the Braves.

Atlanta is banged up, so this could be the right time to face them.

If things go as planned, Lynn would then be in line to throw a second start at home against Cincinnati on Sunday.

Lynn went six innings against the Reds at the end of May and allowed just a single earned run.

Lynn is the type of guy that could strikeout a half dozen over six innings.

Ranger Suarez, Philadelphia Phillies

Suarez is the leader for National League Cy Young as we close out the month of June.

He has made 15 starts and is 10-1 on the season.

His ERA is 1.76 on the season, and he is 7.2 innings shy of 100 on the season.

This will be his 16th start of the season, and he needs five strikeouts to reach 100 so far this season.

He is giving the Phillies all they need and more combining with Nola and Wheeler for a great top three.

He will get the Tigers in Detroit on Tuesday, and would then be in line to host the Marlins on Sunday.

Gerrit Cole, New York Yankees

The former Cy Young is going to work his way back, and by the late summer, should be good to go for the first place Yankees.

Cole will get the first start of the week for New York, as they take on the Mets on Tuesday.

If they keep him on the four days off in between starts, he will get an additional start Sunday in Toronto.

Two teams that Cole can keep down offensively. It will be interesting to see his pitching progression.
