MLB Betting Predictions: Top 7 Teams Over/Under Totals to Wager On

Just a few short weeks ago, the Major League Baseball season was in doubt. The players and the owners seemed to be miles apart on a new collective bargaining agreement, and there didn’t seem to be an end in sight.

Well, that was then, and this is now, and both sides came to an agreement, and we’re going to have a 162 game season. With Opening Day just a few days away, the predicted win totals for every team have been released.

We’ve found seven totals that we think will either be under or over. Let’s take a look at those seven teams so you can bet against their MLB Regular Season Totals Odds.

Top Seven MLB Teams Over/Under Bets In 2022

San Diego Padres – Under 88.5

The Padres were underachievers last season, and we think they’ll be underachievers again. Coming off of last year’s disappointing season, the only major change they made was at the manager’s spot.

Bob Melvin is now in charge of the Padres, and he has a nice roster, but we’re still not sure how good it truly is.

Fernando Tatis Jr. will be out for at least three months, the bullpen has some question marks, and beyond Yu Darvish and Blake Snell, the starting pitching has some question marks.

Atlanta Braves – Over 88

The defending World Series champions may be even better this season. We know that they lost Freddie Freeman, but they replaced him with Matt Olson.

Ronald Acuna Jr. should be around for the whole season, the young pitching staff will have another year of experience under their belts, and the Braves have also bolstered their bullpen.

New York Mets – Under 90.5

While the Mets have made some huge additions, including Max Scherzer, they’ve gone this route before. New York has opened its checkbook and spent huge on free agents.

And much like in past years, we think the results will be the same. The Mets will underachieve and won’t get to the 90-win mark.

Toronto Blue Jays – Over 91.5

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is only getting better, the young core has another year of experience, and while the Blue Jays lost Marcus Semien and Robbie Ray, they replaced them with Matt Chapman and Kevin Gausman. The Jays will win the American League East this season.

Oakland Athletics – Under 79

The A’s are in rebuild mode again. They traded away both Matt Olson and Matt Chapman.

They lost their manager to San Diego, and they’re going with youngsters once again. Oakland has a history of overachieving, but it won’t happen this season.

Philadelphia Phillies – Over 83

Philadelphia was on the brink of the playoffs last season, but they just couldn’t get over the hump. The Phillies improved their offense via free agency, as they signed Kyle Schwarber and Nick Castellanos.

While their defense may be an issue, this team will score some runs. As long as the pitching staff holds up, the Phillies will be good.

Chicago Cubs – Over 72.5

While the Cubs are still a few players away from a playoff team, they did make some upgrades in the offseason. Marcus Stroman is a great addition to the pitching staff, and Seiya Suzuki will solidify their outfield.
