The drivers in the Xfinity Series enjoyed a week off, with no races on the schedule last weekend, but it is back to business on Saturday with the running of the Crown Royal Purple Bag Project 200.
This race will be held in Dover and is set to go on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 PM EST.

My Analysis
We have a tight race going at the top of the driver standings in the Xfinity series with a single point separating the top two drivers, but it may be another who steals the limelight this weekend. We have a Cup Series driver dropping in for this race, which has had an impact on the odds across the board. Then again, we could see an Xfinity driver get the job done. Either way, let’s take a look at the current Xfinity odds.
^William Byron Xfinity Odds +270
As mentioned above, we have a Cup Series driver racing this weekend, which very often shakes things up. Byron is having a great season over in the Cup Series, already picking up a trio of wins. His last full-time appearance in the Xfinity Series came in 2017, when he ended up winning it all, which prompted him to move on up to the highest level in NASCAR. While he is certainly a deserving favorite here, there is no guarantee that he is going to run away with this race. He already raced once at this level earlier in the year and failed to crack the top 20 in Phoenix.
^Justin Allgaier Xfinity Odds +360
The Cuper Series drivers always end up as the favorite when they drop into the lower level, but as mentioned earlier, there is zero guarantee of them getting the win. There are plenty of drivers here who could spring the minor upset, with the bookies putting Justin Allgaier at the top of the list. It has not been the best start to the season for Allgaier, but he is doing his usual and picking up points to stay in touch at the top, as he is currently sitting in 5th overall right now. He has been on the podium in each of the last 3 seasons in Dover, so I would take him to finish there again on Saturday.
^Cole Custer Xfinity Odds +560
I think it’s fair to suggest that we are still waiting to see the best from the defending Xfinity Series champion, as Custer is still in search of his first win of the year. You do get a feeling that it’s coming, though, as he has been close on several occasions, landing in the top 5 no less than 5 times already. It took him a while to get his first win last season, so there is certainly no reason to panic. Custer ran 7th in Dover last season, but I think we might see more from him this time around, with a top 5 finish a decent wager, I believe.
^Aric Almirola Xfinity Odds +770
At this stage of his career, Almirola seems to have settled on racing on a part-time basis. He has had 4 runs in the Xfinity Series this season and had been strong in the last 2. He finished 2nd in Richmond and followed that up with a win in Martinsville, which was his last race this season. Given that he races so sparingly now, it’s tough to know what to expect, but he might be worth taking a risk on, even if only as a top 5 finisher.
