Top College Basketball Games to Bet On the Week
NCAAB Must Bet Games
- When: Tuesday, Dec. 7 – Thursday, Dec. 9
Texas Tech Red Raiders at Tennessee Volunteers
- When: Tuesday, Dec. 7
Texas Tech is a solid enough team for a long look. The Red Raiders have gone 6-1.
The only loss happened against Providence as a -2 ½ chalk. Providence isn’t a great team, but the Raiders should bounce back from that effort. It doesn’t mean Texas Tech wins. But the road squad should cover.
NCAAB Pick: Texas Tech
Villanova Wildcats at Syracuse Orange
- When: Tuesday, Dec. 7
This won’t be as easy of a game for Villanova as one might think. First, Nova must face Baylor on Sunday, which means Jay Wright’s crew could overlook the Orange.
Second, Syracuse has won 3-of-4 both SU and ATS. The lone loss happened against Auburn on a neutral court. Syracuse can win this straight up. If the Orange is the dog, for sure take the points.
NCAAB Pick: Syracuse
Michigan State Spartans at Minnesota Golden Gophers
- When: Wednesday, Dec. 8
Finally, the 7-0 Golden Gophers must go up against a strong college basketball program. Minnesota is a good team, but they haven’t played anyone close to MSU’s level.
The Spartans already have a couple of losses. One of the losses happened against Baylor. The Bears might be the best team in the nation. The other loss happened against Kansas, another top five squad.
Sparty should have no trouble handing the Gophers their first loss of the season. Michigan State wins and covers.
NCAAB Pick: Michigan State
Wyoming Cowboys at Arizona Wildcats
- When: Wednesday, Dec. 8
Arizona is 7-0 and 6-1 against the spread. The Wildcats lead the nation in points per game, 91.3, and hold opponents to less than 59 each contest.
No doubt, the spread line is going to be a country mile. But only one team, Wichita State, has hung with Zona and the Wildcats committed 20 turnovers in the 4-point overtime Arizona victory.
AZ figures to secure another SU and ATS victory.
NCAAB Pick: Arizona
Texas Longhorns at Seton Hall Pirates
- When: Thursday, Dec. 9
Texas has played a single bad game this season and that was versus the Gonzaga Bulldogs. The Lonhorns have gone 3-1 ATS in their last 4.
7-1 Seton Hall’s lone loss happened by 3 points in a game versus Ohio State on Nov. 22. The Pirates have picked up the offense in their last 3, scoring 84, 85, and 113. Granted, the three teams the Pirates beat were Bethune-Cookman, Wagner, and Nyack College.
Still, this happens on Seton Hall’s court. The Pirates are the play.
NCAAM Pick: Seton Hall
Iowa Hawkeyes at Iowa State Cyclones
- When: Thursday, Dec. 9
Iowa State has played great this season. The Cyclones are much better than many thought they’d be.
But on Thursday, Iowa State plays an underrated Hawkeyes squad. Iowa has a single loss, 70-77 against Purdue. The Boilermakers should be this week’s top ranked team.
Iowa averages 91 points per game while averaging close to 50% shooting from the field. The Hawkeyes figure to take this straight up. If Iowa is the chalk, back the Hawkeyes to cover the spread.
NCAAB Pick: Iowa Hawkeyes
