With the 2021-22 College Basketball season rolling right along, it’s time we take a look at the Ten Breakout Players for 2021-22 so you can start planning your bets against the College Basketball Betting Odds.

Top 10 Burst Out Players 2020-21 Season

Alondes Williams-Wake Forest

Williams joined Wake Forest this season after spending his first two seasons in Norman under Lon Kruger. Entering the 2021-22 season his career-high was 6.7 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. So far for undefeated Wake Forest, he is averaging 20.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game while also logging 1.8 steals per game.

David Roddy-Colorado State

Is it possible for a guy that averaged nearly 16 points and over 9 rebounds per game to break out? In Roddy’s case, yes. The All-MWC selection from last year is averaging 24.2 points and 8.2 rebounds this season as well as a career-high in steals (1.2) and blocks (1.0) per game. He is also shooting the ball more efficiently than ever from all three levels.

Keegan Murray-Iowa

This one was easy to see coming. Murray has had big games in the past coming off of the bench for the Iowa Hawkeyes, its has been quite the party for Murray this season. The 6’8 sophomore is averaging over 26.2 points per game along with nearly nine rebounds and three blocks per game. Murray has yet to score fewer than 24 points in a game this season for the 5-0 fighting Fran McCaffery’s. If he continues at even three quarter this production he is going to be an All-American.

Orlando Robinson-Fresno State

Similar to Roddy, it’s hard to point to a guy that averaged 15 and 9 last season is breaking out. However, Robinson is averaging 20 and 11 with a career-high in blocks while shooting the ball at 61% from inside the arc this season. The Bulldogs are 4-0 on the season and Robinson is looking like a potential Mountain West POTY.

Justin Moore-Villanova

Thus far in his career, Moore has found himself to be the Robin to Collin Gillespie’s Batman btu that is changing this season. Moore has burst into the spotlight by averaging nearly 18 points per game while shooting 17 percentage points better from deep this season than last. Minutes, steals, and assists are up while turnovers are down. Jay Wright may have the best backcourt in the nation.

Fardaws Aimaq-Utah Valley

Aimaq should have already been on your radar after leading the nation in rebounding last season at 15 rips per game. This season he figured he’d add is a 20 point scorer to his resume. Aimaq is averaging 22.6 points per game so far this season while shooting a career-high from inside the arc and from the stripe.

Jaden Ivey-Purdue

Ivey was fantastic as a freshman last season but he is a whole different animal in 2021. The 6’4 sophomore has become arguably the most exciting player in the nation and easily the most determined. Ivey is a first-team All-American this season and the best player on a team that could win the national championship.

Colby Jones-Xavier

No one ever thought that the Xavier Musketeers could look as impressive as they have so far without Zach Freemantle on the court. Colby Jones has been a huge part of the impressive start. The 6’5 sophomore is averaging over 13 points per game and nearly ten rebounds this season for the undefeated X-men. The Musketeers are going to be very dangerous when Freemantle is healthy enough for a return.

Julian Strawther-Gonzaga

Gonzaga fans knew Strawther could play, it took the rest of us a little longer to catch up. Strawther made a name for himself during exhibition games prior to the season when he put on a shooting display. He has yet to cool off during the regular season, scoring 15 or more points in four of the Zag’s five games, shooting 12-23 from deep.

Justin Bean-Utah State

I saved the best for last. Bean has long been known to Mountain West fans but this season he warrants everyone’s attention. The 6’7 senior is averaging 24.6 points and 14 rebounds per game this season while shooting a foolish 63.5% from behind the arc. Bean has already scored at least 30 points twice this season.
