San Francisco 49ers Season Rundown

San Francisco plays the Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, and are at Green Bay and at Miami. Those won’t be easy wins. Ah, but the NFC schedule isn’t horrible. San Francisco battles Minnesota, which has yet to find viable starting quarterback to replace Kirk Cousins, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Chicago Bears.

SF also gets to beat up Arizona and Seattle twice. 12 wins is asking a lot, but the odds imply it’s doable.

49ers to win the NFC West -195

The Rams will be good. However, San Francisco’s nucleus from the almost Super Bowl winning squad is back. Not only that, but the 49ers are motivated.

In addition, Rams’ quarterback Matthew Stafford will be a year older. So the Rams, although they should make the playoffs, will struggle to beat the Niners for the NFC West division title.

49ers to win the NFC Conference +250

Dallas won’t be as good this season. The Rams, Packers, and Lions will be good teams. One thing to remember, though, is that this will be Brock Purdy’s third season in Kyle Shanahan’s system.

During the last offseason, Purdy was in a quarterback battle with Sam Darnold and Trey Lance. This season, Purdy doesn’t have to worry about winning the job, which means he can shore up his timing, which is already excellent, with Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Ayuik, and George Kittle.

The defense will be as solid as always while the offensive line will once again be one of the best units in the league. San Francisco marches to their second straight Super Bowl.

QB Brock Purdy to win NFL Most Valuable Player +1200

The odds are too good to pass on Purdy to win the NFL MVP. For sure, beating Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson won’t be easy. But like what’s mentioned above, Purdy will be in his third season in Shanahan’s system.

Also like what’s mentioned above, Purdy won’t have to beat Trey Lance or Sam Darnold for the starting position. From training camp day 1, Brock Purdy will take the starter’s snaps. So Purdy could improve upon his 4,280 yards, and 33 TD passes. Give Brock Purdy a massive shot to win the NFL MVP.

RB Christian McCaffrey to win Offensive Player of the Year +550

Although the chalk, Christian will be difficult to beat for offensive player of the year. He’ll post similar stats and might score more TDs if Shanahan decides to lean more on McCaffrey than he did on Samuel last season.

Bet McCaffrey to win Offensive Player of the Year: Yes

DE Nick Bosa to win Defensive Player of the Year +700

Bosa missed much of training camp before the 2023 season. Since he won’t miss training camp in 2024, we must assume Nick will produce better sack numbers this season.

Last season’s stats weren’t bad: 34 solo tackles, 10.5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. If Bosa improves, bringing his sack number to 14 or 16, he’ll be in the running.

Bet Bosa to win Defensive Player of the Year: Yes

Kyle Shanahan to win Coach of the Year +3000

NFL Coach of the Year goes to an HC that produces surprising results, not expected results. Everyone expects the 49ers to be awesome in 2024. So although Shanahan will be deserving of the award, there are no such thing as results that don’t due in large part to the head coach, he won’t win it.

Bet Shanahan to win Coach of the Year: No

San Francisco 49ers to win Super Bowl 2025 +600

In hindsight, San Francisco’s 2023 was a sort of feel it out season. The team played great, making it to the Super Bowl, but before the season started, Kyle Shanahan didn’t know who his starting quarterback was going to be and Nick Bosa had yet to put on the pads.

This season, all is copasetic in SF. The 49ers are more tuned into what’s required to make it back to the Vince Lombardi Trophy game. San Francisco is a great play to finally get Super Bowl rings.
