Before the new NFL season begins, we all love to make predictions on what sort of win/loss record each team in the league will post. We seldom, if ever, get them all correct, as there are so many things that can go wrong for a team on any given Sunday. Some folks picked the New England Patriots to go 16-0, a prediction that went belly up in Week 1, while other had the New York Jets, who now have 4 wins on the season, going winless, which is why the NFL Week 9 odds are a little more difficult to read.
We do still have the possibility of a 0-16 team this year, and we, in fact, have two chances of that happening, as both the Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers come into Week 9 of the NFL season with 0-8 records. In fairness to the 49ers, they have come close to winning on a few occasions this season, but have yet to make that breakthrough. Sone would suggest that they have a real opportunity to get that first win of the season this weekend at home to an Arizona Cardinals team that has lost Carson Palmer and David Johnson for the season.
The Cardinals are a 2 ½ point road favorite, and the point total for this one is set at 39 ½.
The 49ers have only managed to put together a combined 20 points in their last two games, but you get the sense that if they can keep this makeshift Cardinals offense under control, they might just be able to steal this game in the late stages.
The bad news here, though, is that the 49ers have lost 5 in a row at home, and have just 2 wins in their last 10 games at Levi’s Stadium. This is a team that has forgotten how to win, but can they find some glimmer of hope here against a banged-up Cardinals squad to defy the NFL Week 9 Odds?

Why bet on the Arizona Cardinals?
With both Palmer and Johnson done for the year, you have to wonder what the rest of the season is going to look like for the Cardinals. Drew Stanton looked largely ineffective when taking over from the injured Palmer during the 33-0 loss to the Rams in the last game out, and the same can be said for Adrian Peterson, who managed just 21 yards on 11 carries. The latter was particularly disappointing, especially since Peterson lit it up for 134 yards and 2 TD’s in his first game with Arizona. The Arizona Cardinals may be able to find some success on offense against this 49ers team, though, as this is a team that they have dominated of late, winning their last 5 meetings with San Francisco. The Cardinals are just 1-3 on the road this season and are just 1-6 ATS overall. The OVER has come up in 11 of Arizona’s last 14 games away from home.Team Statistics

Why bet on the San Francisco 49ers?
Of the two winless teams left in the NFL, it has been the 49ers who have looked the most likely to get a win. Five of their first six games this season were decided by 3 points or less, although that has gone out the window in their last two games, where they were seriously manhandled by the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
This looks to me like a game that is going to be close, and while I like the 49ers to cover, I think they are once again going to come up just a little short in their try to contradict the NFL Week 9 Odds. Score: Arizona Cardinals 21 – San Francisco 49ers 20MyBookie NFL
