NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year – Odds to Win
Ezekiel Elliott +200 Jared Goff +250 Derrick Henry +700 Corey Coleman +750 Josh Doctson +1200 Laquon Treadwell +1200 Kenneth Dixon +1400 Jordan Howard +1400 Sterling Sheppard +1600 Paul Perkins +1600 Analysis: Okay, as is the case each and every year, some rookies will clearly have more of an opportunity to win the 2016 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award than others. With that said, several rookies look like they’ll all have decent chances to bag the 2016 Rookie of the Year hardware. Here are my top three picks.Ezekiel Elliott – RB – Dallas Cowboys
The favorite will have a ton of chances to impress as he starts right away for the Cowboys this coming season. Dallas has arguably the best offensive line in the game today and one that helped former back DeMarco Murray rush for league-high 1,845 yards just two years ago. Over the last two seasons, only the Seattle Seahawks (5,030) and Carolina Panthers (4,318) have run for more yards than the Cowboys, (4,244 yards). Elliott rushed for a stellar 1,821 yards and 23 touchdowns for Ohio State in 2015 and could put up a similar number as a rookie for the ‘Boys in 2016.Jared Goff – QB – Los Angeles Rams
Goff will likely have a chance if he starts right away. The Rams will likely bring the No. 1 overall pick in the draft along slowly by relying on Pro Bowl running back Todd Gurley and its stupendous defense early on. Goff was a three-year starter at Cal and is a cerebral type of player that has good accuracy and touch, so I wouldn’t go expecting him to throw a ton of interceptions in his first year. Goff has good size (6-4) and mobility and threw for 4,719 yards and an insane 43 touchdowns for Cal in 2015.Josh Doctson – WR – Washington Redskins
With veteran speedster DeSean Jackson routinely missing games each season and fellow starter Pierre Garcon aging faster than a week-old loaf of moldy bread, I think former TCU wideout Josh Doctson could really surprise in the nation’s capitol. The 6-2 Doctson has size, leaping ability and an uncanny ability to come down with 50-50 balls far more often than not. Doctson caught 79 passes for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns last season and will likely be a nightmare matchup in the red zone right off the bat.Honorable Mention
Corey Coleman – WR – Cleveland Browns
Coleman is an absolutely explosive speed demon that should see his share of balls thrown his way, even as a rookie for the Browns. If new head coach and certified offensive genius Hue Jackson can straighten out enigmatic quarterback Robert Griffin III, Coleman could have a shot!Laquon Treadwell – WR – Minnesota Vikings
I like Laquon Treadwell a lot too and the former Mississippi wide receiver will likely start right away. However, until I see some improved passing out of quarterback Teddy Bridgewater this coming season, I believe Treadwell remains something of a long shot to win the 2016 Rookie of the Year award. Now that you know which prized rookies have the best chances of cashing in on their Offensive Rookie of the Year odds in 2016, it’s time to his the NFL sportsbook and make an NFL futures bet or two!MyBookie NFL
