In Depth Analysis On The New York Jets At Kansas City Chiefs NFL Winning Predictions
Where: Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, Missouri When: Sunday, September 25, 4:25 PM ET TV: CBS NFL Lines: Kansas City (-3), OVER/UNDER 44Why Bet on the Jets
After losing by a single point to the Bengals in Week 1, the Jets used a combination of timed attacks and serviceable defending to earn a victory over the Buffalo Bills last Thursday. With a few days of extra rest, the New York Jets should be fully motivated for a strong performance in Kansas City. Key to New York’s chances will be the team’s ability to protect its QB and get the ball to Matt Forte, who’s been the best NY player through the first two weeks—he had 22 carries for 99 rushing yards and 5 receptions for 59 receiving yards receiving in Week 1, followed by a stellar three-touchdowns performance plus 100 yards on 30 carries in Week 2. Needless to say, quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick will also need to find his rhythm, given that the Chiefs have a good rushing defense that could easily make life difficult for Forte and his fellow runners. In the defense, the Jets have a talented group, but they did allow 31 points to the iffy Bills last week, meaning head coach Todd Bowles must work on tightening up his D unit in order to have a chance of stopping the veteran-laden Chiefs offense. Why Bet on the Chiefs
While New York has two of its stars in Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker banged up (and considered as game-time decisions for Sunday), the Chiefs will be welcoming back star running back Jamaal Charles, who’s been out of the team since last year; something that should be a major boost to KC’s offense that struggled to move the ball without him last week. Having the luxury of Charles and Spence Ware (70 rushing yards and 129 receiving yards in week one vs. San Diego, 48 receiving yards on two receptions and 5.7 yards per carry vs. Houston) should encourage efficiency for QB Alex Smith, as he seeks to continue his tendency to play well at home. As a note, though, Kansas City was bugged by turnovers and penalties in Week 1 and 2, contributing to the hard-earned 33-29 OT win vs. San Diego and the 19-12 loss at Houston. The Chiefs will therefore need to clean up their act, especially with the defense coming in strongly, if KC is to get the victory over the disciplined Jets.Expert NFL Predictions and Picks
The Chiefs are playing at the Arrowhead Stadium, a place Kansas City has won 5 straight games dating back to last season, so that alone should already tell you that Kansas City will be tough to beat this Sunday. New York’s stellar defense will keep the visitors in the game, but with the Chiefs playing at full strength (unlike the banged up Jets), Kansas City (which is 5-1 ATS in its last 6 games when playing NY Jets) should be able to come out on top eventually, taking the win and the points late in the game like they did against San Diego in Week 1.Predicted Final Score: Kansas City 27, New York 22
Writer’s Pick: Chiefs (-3)
