NFL Betting Preview for Seahawks vs Raiders On Aug. 14th
Seattle Seahawks vs Las Vegas Raiders – NFL Preseason Game
- When: August 14 at 9:00 pm ET
- Where: Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, NV
Why bet on Seattle versus Las Vegas
Likely starter Geno Smith has played in the NFL since the Jets drafted him 39th overall in 2013. The veteran quarterback knows what his limitations are, which is why he will never become a starter. Versus the Raiders’ second-team defense, though, Smith should have success. If it’s enough success, the Seahawks will cover the spread.

Why bet on Las Vegas against Seattle
If Marcus Mariota starts, the Raiders could blow out the Seattle Seahawks. Sure, this is a preseason game, but Seattle’s first-string secondary is arguably the worst in the NFL. The second-string secondary won’t have a shot against Mariota, who would be an NFL starting quarterback if not for injuries.

Final Betting Analysis: Seattle Seahawks at Las Vegas Raiders
Even if the Raiders don’t start, or even play Marcus Mariota, Nathan Peterman or fourth-string quarterback Case Cookus should tear up the Seahawks’ secondary.
Seattle’s defense won’t be motivated to stop any quarterback Jon Gruden sends to the field. Gruden, though, will call this game close to the way he’d call a regular season contest.
In 2019, the Raiders won 3-of-4 preseason games. Gruden doesn’t take the preseason off. He uses the games to ready himself as a head coach for the regular season, which means the Raiders should be more focused than the Seahawks, leading to a win and cover.
