There were a lot of bold predictions made prior to the start of the 2017 NFL season, but one pick that seemed fairly straightforward was predicting who would win the NFC West. This is a division that has been in decline for a while, with the Seattle Seahawks being the obvious class of the division. The feeling was that they would once again roll to the NFC West crown, and while it is still early in the season, things are not yet going their way, just as the NFL Week 5 odds shows.
Seattle goes on the road to Los Angeles this Sunday in what is a crucial divisional match-up against the Rams. The bookies have no realm betting odds favorite here and have this one down as a Pick play. The point total has been set at 46 ½.
The Seahawks have, for the most part, not looked very good, and are a bit of a surprise at just 2-2 through the first 4 weeks. Perhaps even more surprising in this division has been the play of the LA Rams. This was a team that couldn’t find the end zone with a GPS device last season, but they have turned their offense around dramatically, and are now one of the top scoring teams in the league.
All told, Gurley has found the end zone 7 times already this season, making him the man that the Seahawks need to focus on this weekend. The Rams are just 1-8 SU at home in their last 9 games, but keep in mind that those numbers go back to last season when this team was brutal.

Why bet on the Seattle Seahawks?
The Seattle Seahawks have made something of a habit of getting off to a slow start, but this season feels a little different. Prior to their 48-point outburst against the Colts last week, the Seahawks offense had been struggling in a big way. While their Week 4 win over Indianapolis as certainly a relief, the final score was actually a little flattering. The first half of that game was about as tight as it gets, and if not for some big errors by the Colts in the second half, the outcome may have been a whole lot different. Despite the NFL Week 5 Odds, this match represents an opportunity for Seattle to regain control of the West, but they are going to need to play a whole lot better than they have been doing thus far if they are to keep pace with what has been an impressive Rams offense. The big problem for Seattle is that they are now winless in their last 5 games on the road, and they are also 0-5 in their last 5 road games versus the Rams.Team Statistics

Why go with the Los Angeles Rams?
After a first season in the NFL that saw Todd Gurley win the rookie of the year, the Rams RB went through a major sophomore slump. Not all the blame can be heaped on Gurley for last season, though, as this was a team that did not have a serviceable QB. Opposing teams knew that Gurley was going to get the ball more often than not, which meant that all they had to do was load the box. QB Jared Goff has seen the light turn on this season, and he is playing some great ball, which has opened things up once again for the running game and certainly improves their NFL Week 5 Odds.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
This is one that I think is going to be close and on the low scoring end of the scale. After all, 4 of the last 5 meetings between these two have gone UNDER. I’m taking the Rams to win a close one. Score: Seattle Seahawks 20 – Los Angeles Rams 21MyBookie NFL
