NFL 2021 Week 8 Odds Favorites to Wager On

By NFL Week 8, oddsmakers have a good idea of which teams are great against the spread and which teams will fail. This season’s Week 8 is no different. But although oddsmakers have a good idea of what spreads to set, NFL handicappers can look at spreads this week and that jump out at us. Check out five NFL favorites in Week 8 offering overlay NFL odds to cover. Each of the five should have no trouble covering the spread.

Favorites You Should Bet On NFL Week 8

2021 NFL Week 8

  • When: Thursday, Oct. 28 – Nov. 1

Atlanta Falcons -3 hosting the Carolina Panthers

The Falcons have won 3-of-4 and are looking like a possible wildcard team. In recent games, the Falcons offense has really clicked.

First-round pick tight-end Kyle Pitts has 31 catches for 471 yards. In the 30-28 win over the Miami Dolphins, Pitts caught 7 passes for 163 yards. His average yards per catch was an eye-popping 23.0.

The Falcons’ defense is atrocious. But on Sunday it won’t have to be good because Sam Darnold is a terrible quarterback. Falcons easily cover the 3.

Dallas Cowboys -2 ½ at the Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota has a good offense. Dallas’ offense is great. The Cowboys rank first in yards per at 460.8, and first in points per game at 34.2.

The Boys rank second in rushing yards per at 164.3 and fifth in passing yards each game at 296.5. Dallas is 5-1 on the moneyline and 6-0 against the spread.

Again, the Vikings have a good offense. But Kirk Cousins and Dalvin Cook won’t keep up with Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott. Cowboys grab another road win and cover.

Cincinnati Bengals -10 at the New York Jets

If the playoffs started today, the Cincinnati Bengals would be the first seed. That’s how well the Bengals have played this season.

Burrow has thrown for 1,956 yards and 17 TDs. The defense shut down Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens in the impressive 41-17 road win in NFL Week 7.

The Jets must start Joe Flacco on Sunday. The Bengals should win this by 17 to 24 points.

Los Angeles Chargers -5 ½ hosting the New England Patriots

It’s understandable if you don’t like the Chargers at -5 ½ against the Patriots. After all, New England scored 54 points in a victory against the Jets in their last.

But that’s just it. New England is being overplayed ATS. The Bolts are one of the best teams in the NFL.

Baltimore blew out the Chargers in their last. But LAC heads into this off a bye. The Chargers’ bend but don’t break defensive philosophy has led to 5 under games out of 6 total.

Justin Herbert can light it up when he must. He won’t, though, unless he has to, which means the Chargers will build a ten to 10 to 14 point lead and then coast to a win and cover.

Cleveland Browns -3 ½ hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers

Baker Mayfield, Nick Chubb, Odell Beckham Jr., and Jarvis Landry are questionable or probable. Only Chubb and Baker must play to cover this paltry spread versus the Steelers because Pittsburgh’s D allows 107.7 rushing yards per game.

The Browns’ defense should shut down the Steelers’ terrible offense. There’s a chance Mike Tomlin coaches Pittsburgh to a victory. There’s a better chance Baker and Nick go wild after sitting out last week’s 17-14 win against the Denver Broncos.
