Atletico takes on AC Milan after a 0-1 loss to Alaves. Madrid drew with Porto 0-0 in their first CL match. The reason Atletico is the favorite might be because many believe La Liga is better than Serie A.

That may or may not be true, which is why Milan, who offers the higher odds, is the play.

Manchester City +128 vs Paris Saint-Germain +190

This should be a dynamite match. Both teams have won 4-of-5 with a draw. Man City heads into this off a fantastic 1-0 victory over rival Chelsea.

The match happened at Stamford Bridge. So we shouldn’t discount how well the Sky Blues played when exacting revenge over the team who beat them in last season’s Champions League Final.

PSG is dominating French Ligue 1. Paris drew 1-1 versus Club Brugge in their first CL match. Perhaps, that’s why Paris offers overlay odds to beat City.

Once PSG gels, they should have no trouble standing up to teams like the Sky Blues. Backing Paris makes the most sense.

FC Sheriff Tiraspol +2 ½ (-111) vs Real Madrid -2 ½ (-119)

When: Tuesday, Sep. 28

Real beat Inter 1-0 in their first Champions League match. The top squad in La Liga’s Primera Division heads into this off a decent performance, drawing 0-0 with Villareal in their last. Villareal won the Europa League last season and has yet to lose a Primera Division match.

Real should dominate Tiraspol. But RM gives up 2 ½ in this. That’s too many goals to lend to a team that beat Shakhtar Donetsk 2-0 in their first CL match. Sheriff Tiraspol will play for a draw, which makes them the handicap pick.

Liverpool FC -135 vs FC Porto +330

Liverpool is a fantastic soccer club. But Porto isn’t a bad team. The underdog in this made it all the way to last season’s Champions League Semifinals.

Pool looked terrible in their last match. Facing Brentford, the best the Reds could do was force a 3-3 draw. Porto is an experienced, solid squad that forced a 0-0 draw with Atletico Madrid in their first Champions League match.

Porto can beat Liverpool on the moneyline. Why not take a shot?

Sporting Lisbon +1 ½ (-120) vs Borussia Dortmund -1 ½ (-109)

Dortmund lost 1-0 to rival Monchengladbach on Sep. 25. Borussia’s biggest problem is that if their offense doesn’t come to play, their defense struggles.

Sporting Lisbon fell by 4 goals, 1-5 to Ajax in their first CL match. Lisbon is a decent soccer club.

They don’t have the firepower to keep up with Erling Haaland and Dortmund, though. It makes sense to back Borussia on the handicap.
