Top 2022 MLS Week 14 Matches to Bet On the Weekend

The 2022 Major League Soccer is heading towards the heart of its regular-season schedule, with most teams hovering right around the 40% mark in games completed.

Los Angeles FC and the Philadelphia Union lead their respective conferences in points, while the Portland Timbers, last year’s playoff runner-ups, are down in 10th place in the West.

Here are the best games to bet on this weekend so you can get ready to place your bets against the MLS Odds.

MLS Weekend Games Preview – May 26th Edition | Soccer Betting Analysis

Los Angeles FC vs San Jose Earthquakes

Starting with the negative, LAFC has been given -250 odds of winning the match, which means that bettors will have to sacrifice a big risk in order to return a decent profit; however, it could certainly be much worse as heavy favorites are often awarded much worse odds.

L.A. has been dominant thus far, managing an 8-2-3 record and winning three of its last four league matches. Carlos Vela has done a tremendous job leading one of the league’s best attacks, while the team’s defense is also one of the best in the MLS, giving them a near-perfect balance.

The Earthquakes are down in 11th place in the Western Conference and have a 3-5-5 record as they have struggled to continually pick up three points from their encounters.

They have one win, two draws, and two losses in their last five domestic matches, and they have not beaten above ninth place in the table. They showed promise as an underdog pick early in the season, and although they have been able to play teams to draws in the past, they do not have the firepower to match L.A.

New England Revolution vs Philadelphia Union

The Union is not the best team in the world at securing three points, but they also rarely ever lose. Phili is 6-6-1 thus far and has drawn five of their last seven matches, losing the other two, somehow still managing to stay atop the Eastern Conference; they have +230 odds of winning, which would be a good backup pick, but a draw at +25- looks especially appetizing.

The New England Revolution has -105 odds of winning, which is somewhat insulting against the East’s leaders and for a squad that has only gone 4-3-5.

The Revs are not an overpowering, goal-scoring unit either, so the chances they break the deadlock and come away with three points are not great. It might not be the “sexiest” pick in the world, but a draw looks great here.

Inter Miami CF vs Portland Timbers

The Timbers have drastically underperformed their expectations, going 3-6-5 to start their year— they have been playing better, though they are still struggling to pick up results. Their defense is still suspect, but they look more connected, and performances often matter more than the final results.

Miami is favored in the match but has a horrible goal-scoring record, only one real goal-scoring threat, and leaks far too many goals. The teams’ recent form might contradict this pick, but Portland is the team to bet on as they have looked better over the past few weeks.
