Novak Djokovic vs Cameron Norrie

  • When: Friday, November 19

Novak Djokovic enters this bout with a perfect 2-0 record, having beaten both Andrey Rublev (2-0) and Casper Ruud (2-0) without dropping a set. Although an incredible performance from the Serbian tennis star, it’s not like it wasn’t expected.

Djokovic has won three Grand Slams this season and is the undisputed best tennis player of 2021, so it would rather be more surprising seeing him lose a game. Now the question is whether he can be as dominant against Cameron Norrie?

As the latest betting odds would suggest, Djokovic should win with ease, and we can’t argue with that. Not only is he much higher rated than Norrie (no.1 – no.12), but Djokovic has also beaten players who are considered much stronger than the Brit.

Even though it’s worth noting that Djokovic has yet to play against Norrie, that likely won’t stop him from securing another 2-0 sweep on Friday. Admittedly, Norrie has had some solid showings of late and deserves a lot of respect for what he had shown in Paris a couple of weeks back, but defeating Djokovic will be a tall order even for him.

MyBookie has Djokovic priced as -1111 favorite and Norrie as a +545 underdog, which makes perfect sense. However, while we don’t believe Norrie can upset the current no.1, we have faith in the Brit to cause some damage.

MyBookie offers +101 on the game to go over 20.5 games, which is a great bet to take as it’s unlikely for Norrie not to win at least seven games across the fixture.

Prediction: Over 20.5 games – +101 at MyBookie

Andrey Rublev vs Casper Ruud

  • When: Friday, November 19

Andrey Rublev and Casper Ruud last met in April, when Rublev won 2-0, adding to his success from February (2-0). With his win in Monaco seven months back, Rublev extended his head-to-head record to 5-0, so it makes sense for the Russian to be priced as a -212 favorite for this bout.

But while Rublev has proven that he is the better player in these matchups, we wouldn’t count out Ruud just yet. Ruud enters this match with a 1-1 record, including a 2-1 win against Cameron Norrie and a 0-2 loss against Djokovic. Rublev shares the same 1-1 record, with a 0-2 loss against Djokovic and a 2-0 win against Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Admittedly, Rublev has achieved more on the year, but Ruud is not someone you should underestimate. He has done exceptionally well on hard courts of late and won in San Diego to continue his strong second half of the season.

Ruud’s results on hard courts show apparent parallels to how Dominic Thiem successfully transitioned from clay to hard. And while we don’t expect Ruud to dominate, he deserves more respect than what the bookmakers are giving him.

There is a world where Ruud causes an upset, but we will play it safe and take the outsider with a +2.5 game handicap. He has shown enough for us to believe that he can force a tight match, and we expect him to achieve just that.

Prediction: Casper Ruud +2.5 games -103 at MyBookie
