ATP Tour 500 series
2024 Queen’s Club Championships
It’s the 121st edition of the ATP 500 grass court tournament and one of two ATP events this week as players prepare for Wimbledon, which begins on July 1.
We’ll analyze the top seeds boasting the best ATP tennis betting odds, potential underdogs lurking for an upset, and ultimately reveal our winning pick for the tournament.
2024 Cinch Championships
Grigor Dimitrov
He also lost in the quarter-finals at Roland Garros and hasn’t played since.
He begins the Queen’s Club Championship against Adrian Mannarino, against whom he is 5-0 in his career.
Dimitrov has one title this season, winning in Brisbane, and was runner-up in Marseille and Miami.
He was 7-2 on grass courts last season.
Cinch Championships Potential Upsets
Musetti +460 vs. Minaur -847
De Minaur was runner-up at the Queen’s Club Championship last year, but there’s a real possibility he suffers an early exit this week.
He has played a lot of tennis as of late, reaching the quarters at Roland Garros and then playing Sunday in the final of the Libema Open.
It’s a quick turnaround for a match against Musetti, who is 9-4 on grass in the last two years and had a decent outing last week in Stuttgart, reaching the semi-finals.
Andy Murray +111 vs. Alexei Popyrin -148
Andy Murray is a four-time winner at the Queen’s Club and, while he hasn’t won since 2016, he is still in decent form and will be a tough out for Alexei Popyrin.
Murray is 6-12 this season, but he’s at his best on grass, where he has a 21-7 record over the last three years.
Popyrin has never played Murray in his career and is 12-12 on grass in the last three seasons.
Championships Finals Prediction
It’s hard to see anyone but Alcaraz winning the top half of the draw, while the bottom half of the draw is completely wide open.
Holger Rune, the seventh seed, is a player who has been on the cusp of greatness in the last two years but hasn’t really been able to break through.
He’s a good candidate to get some momentum with a win heading into Wimbledon, but he probably comes up short against Alcaraz in the final.
ATP Pick: Alcaraz def. Rune
