2024 Croatia Open Top 3 Players
Andrey Rublev
The top seed in the tournament, Andrey Rublev would otherwise be competing in the Olympics Tennis tournament beginning over the weekend, but Russia is still banned from all competitions by the IOC.
Thus, he’s a major betting favorite and the only top-10 player competing in any ATP event this week.
He plays the winner of Camilo Ugo Carabelli and Luka Mikrut in the second round with potential semi-final opponents being Fabian Marozsan, Francisco Cerundolo, and Alexandre Muller.
Rublev is 24-13 this season, but he has struggled as of late, losing four consecutive matches against Matteo Arnaldi, Marcos Giron, Francisco Comesana, and Thiago Agustin Tirante.
Still, he’s the most accomplished player in the field and one of the best on clay courts, boasting a 9-5 record this season and 19-5 last year.
He won twice this season in Hong Kong and Madrid.
Lorenzo Musetti
Lorenzo Musetti reached the semi-finals of a grand slam for the first time in his career at Wimbledon, but was beaten in three sets by seven-time champion Novak Djokovic.
Musetti might have had a relatively easy path to the semis, but did score an impressive win over Taylor Fritz in the quarter-finals and reached the final two weeks prior at ATP London.
Musetti is 29-20 overall this season and 10-8 on clay courts.
He’ll face one of two Argentinian qualifiers in the second round and should be a good bet to at least make the semis, with his potential quarter-final opponents being Lajovic, Flavio Cobolli, and Mariano Navone.
Holger Rune
Rune, the third seed in the tournament, will play the winner of Fabio Fognini and Luca Van Assche in the second round.
Rune has had a strong season overall, with a 27-15 record, but won just once and that was way back in January at ATP Brisbane.
The world No. 17 reached three semi-finals and the fourth rounds at Wimbledon and the French Open.
He’s trending in the right direction.
Betting Croatia Open Final Prediction
Rune is a good value betting pick for the Croatia Open.
He has been among the most consistent players this season and is seemingly due for another title.
The 4-time champion hasn’t won since January and has a favorable path to the final.
Rublev has lost four in a row, so it’s hard to bet on him at this point.
I like Cerundolo to win the top half of the draw, but Rune to win in the final.
Pick: Rune def. Cerundolo
