2018 NFL Week 12 Odds, Overview & Predictions for Each Game

It sure looks like we will have a new Super Bowl champion come February. After all, the Philadelphia Eagles’ 41-point loss to New Orleans on Sunday was the largest by a defending Super Bowl champion. The Eagles are facing an uphill climb for the playoffs at 4-6. Here’s a look at every game in Week 12 with Mybookie Sportsbook odds.

Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions (+4), Thursday

Per usual, the Thanksgiving holiday gets going with a 12:30 kickoff from Detroit. Chicago could really put a hammerlock on the NFC North with a win here. The Bears also look for the sweep as the beat Detroit 34-22 in Week 10. Mitchell Trubisky threw for a career-high 355 yards along with three TDs – he also rushed for a score. It was 26-0 before the Lions even got on the board. Take Detroit.

Washington Redskins at Dallas Cowboys (-8), Thursday

Per usual, the middle Thanksgiving game is from Dallas. Washington will be starting veteran journeyman Colt McCoy at QB after Alex Smith gruesomely broke his leg a la Joe Theismann in Sunday’s loss to Houston. After defeating the New York Giants, 20-10, on Thanksgiving last season, the Redskins will be seeking victories in consecutive Thanksgiving games for the first time in team history.

Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints (-13), Thursday

The holiday concludes with the Saints hosting a Turkey Day game for the first time and bringing in an NFL-best nine-game winning streak. That includes a 43-37 OT win in Atlanta as a short underdog in Week 3. Drew Brees’ 1-yard run capped an 80-yard touchdown drive to open overtime for the win. Brees passed for 396 yards and three touchdowns and ran for two scores. Atlanta’s Matt Ryan had his first career game with five scoring passes. Jacksonville Jaguars at Buffalo Bills (+3)

These were both playoff teams in 2017 but have fallen on their faces. The Bills are out of their bye. Rookie QB Josh Allen (elbow) practiced in full Monday. Coach Sean McDermott would not commit to Allen playing against the Jaguars on Sunday, but this practice puts him on track. The Jaguars’ season essentially ended on Sunday when it blew a 16-0 lead vs. Pittsburgh and lost in the final seconds. Buffalo wins.

Oakland Raiders at Baltimore Ravens (-10.5)

Baltimore rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson, who was selected with the 32nd overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, made his first career start on Sunday and is the fifth rookie quarterback selected in the first round of the 2018 Draft to start a game this season. This is the first season in NFL history in which five rookie quarterbacks selected in the first round of the same NFL Draft have started at least one game. Jackson had a huge rushing game in a win over Cincinnati. The Raiders won in Arizona. Take Baltimore.

San Francisco 49ers at Tampa Bay Bucs (-3)

Probably the most worthless game of Week 12. The Bucs will go back to Jameis Winston as their starting quarterback. It’s hardly a surprise after Ryan Fitzpatrick threw seven interceptions in 2.5 games in place of Winston. Winston is going to turn the ball over a ton, as well. The 49ers will stick with Nick Mullens as they come off their bye. Go Tampa.

NY Giants at Philadelphia Eagles (-6)

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning completed 17 of 18 passes (94.4 percent) for 231 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions for a 155.8 passer rating and rookie running back Saquon Barkley had 142 rushing yards and three touchdowns (two rushing, one receiving) in the team’s 38-35 victory over Tampa Bay.

Manning’s 94.4 completion percentage tied Hall of Famer Fran Tarkenton (94.4 percent on November 13, 1977) and Craig Morton (94.4 percent on September 27, 1981) for the third-highest in a single game in NFL history (minimum 15 attempts). The Giants already were spanked once by Philly this year and will be again.

Cleveland Browns at Cincinnati Bengals (-3)

Cleveland is off its bye. Andy Dalton completed 19-of-36 passes for 211 yards and two touchdowns and rushed twice for 29 yards in the Bengals’ Week 11 loss to Baltimore. Dalton took only one sack and five hits, but he is playing against a loaded deck without A.J. Green and Tyler Eifert. His touchdowns on Sunday went to third-string TE Matt Lengel and John Ross. There is some hope that Green (toe) will return for Week 12 against the Browns. Go Cincinnati.

New England Patriots at New York Jets (+9.5)

Both AFC East team are off their bye and the first meeting of the season. Rob Gronkowski (back) is expected to return for Week 12 against the Jets. Gronkowski has missed New England’s last two games with back and ankle injuries but had the bye to heal up. The injury-prone 29-year-old has disappointed this year, going six straight games without either a touchdown or 100 yards receiving. Speaking Monday, Jets coach Todd Bowles called Sam Darnold (foot) “day to day, week to week.” Not likely the rookie plays. Take New York.

Seattle Seahawks at Carolina Panthers (-3)

Russell Wilson completed 21-of-31 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns in the Seahawks’ 27-24, Week 11 win over the Packers. Cam Newton completed 25-of-37 passes for 357 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception in the Panthers’ Week 11 loss to the Lions. For some reason, Carolina coach Ron Rivera went for two points and the win at the end and it was incomplete. Take Carolina.

Arizona Cardinals at LA Chargers (-12)

Arizona lost 23-21 at home to Oakland in the final seconds Sunday. Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers passed for 401 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions for a 91.3 passer rating in the Chargers’ upset loss against Denver.

Rivers has thrown at least two touchdown passes in each of the Chargers’ first 10 games of the season and is the sixth quarterback in league history with two or more touchdown passes in each of his team’s first 10 games to start a season. Take Arizona.

Miami Dolphins at Indianapolis Colts (-10)

Will Miami starting QB Ryan Tannehill be ready to go off the bye? He hasn’t played in weeks due to a shoulder injury. Indy quarterback Andrew Luck completed 23 of 29 passes (79.3 percent) for 297 yards with three touchdowns and zero interceptions for a 143.8 passer rating in the Colts’ 38-10 victory over Tennessee.

Luck has thrown at least three touchdown passes in seven consecutive games, the third-longest streak in a single season in NFL history. Only Tom Brady (10 consecutive games in 2007) and Peyton Manning (eight consecutive games in 2004) have longer such streaks in a single season. Both Brady and Manning were named Associated Press Most Valuable Players in those seasons. Take Miami.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Denver Broncos (+3.5)

Pittsburgh rallied from a 16-0 third-quarter deficit to win in Jacksonville on Sunday. To cap a brilliant fourth quarter, Ben Roethlisberger stretched the nose of the football across the goal line on a diving 1-yard touchdown run with three seconds left. Denver upset the Chargers 23-22. Down 19-7, Von Miller’s interception with less than four minutes remaining in the third quarter turned the game around against the Chargers. Take Denver.

Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings (-4)

Sunday night game – second in a row for Minnesota after losing in Chicago in Week 11. The Packers and Vikings tied at 29-all in Week 2 at Lambeau. – Daniel Carlson missed two field goals in overtime, including one from 35 yards as time expired, and Minnesota had to settle for a tie after rallying from a late 13-point deficit. Go Vikings.

Tennessee Titans at Houston Texans (-3.5), Monday

The Texans, led by rookie safety Justin Reid’s 101-yard interception-return touchdown in the second quarter, defeated Washington, 23-21, at FedExField on Sunday. The Texans are the first team since 1970 to win seven consecutive games immediately following a 0-3 start to a season. Reid’s 101-yard interception-return touchdown is tied for the second-longest interception-return touchdown by a rookie in NFL history. The Titans beat Houston earlier this season 20-17.
