MotoGP 2021 Valencian GP Betting Preview & Prediction

Written by on November 11, 2021

It is the time of year where we begin to see some seasons come to an end in the sports world, particularly in motor sports. This weekend will deliver the final race of the MotoGP season, and while it is a bit anti-climactic because we already know the champion, you can bet that all the riders will want to finish the season on a high note given that it’s only a few short months before it all begins again. For the final race of the year, the riders will be in Valencia, Spain, with those trailing behind the champion looking to cement the best finish possible in the overall standings. Let’s take a look at the top 4 riders this season in our MotoGP Betting preview and how they might make out in Valencia.

MotoGP Betting Analysis for Gran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenciana (Valencian GP)

Fabio Quartararo

With the World Championship secured, Quartararo doesn’t really need to go out and prove anything, but he will want to close out the season with a strong performance. He is coming off a disappointing run in the Algarve Grand Prix, where he was forced to retire, making his quest for a 300-point season impossible. It has now been 5 races since he last picked up a win, although he did deliver a couple of podium finishes during that run. It has been consistency and continually racking up points that has made him a deserving champion. He finished 2nd in Valencia in his first season in MotoGP, and while he failed to finish there last year, you have to like his chances this weekend.

Francesco Bagnaia

There is no rider hotter than Bagnaia heading into the final race of the season, but despite how good he has been of late, it all came a little too late in the season for it to matter. Bagnaia won last weekend and is now on a run where he has won 3 of the last 5 races. While that was not enough to allow him to catch Quartararo, it does mean that 2nd place overall now looks secure. That is a massive leap forward in just his 3rd full season on MotoGP, so we can assume that he is going to be one to watch when the new season arrives in 2022.

Joan Mir

We all remember how weird it was in 2020, with a shortened season and all kinds of uncertainty surrounding sports during the pandemic. It was Joan Mir who proved to be the toughest of them all last season as he rode his way to a world championship despite winning just 1 race. He needed to do better than that if he wanted to repeat this season, but as we head into the final weekend of the season, he is still looking for his first win in 2021. He has never finished better than 7th in his 2 runs in Valencia, so tough to imagine him winning here.

Jack Miller

Miller came out of the gates on fire this season, winning back-to-back races in the early going, but a pair of races where he was forced to retire in the middle of the season killed all his momentum. He did deliver a podium finish in the Algarve last weekend, so perhaps he might be in the mood to finish strong. He has been on the podium in each of his last 2 races in Valencia, so definitely one to watch.
