Betting on Boxing this Weekend

On Saturday night, champion Teofimo Lopez throws down against Steve Claggett in the main event on an ESPN broadcast fight card and Juan Francisco Estrada takes on Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez in the main event of a DAZN card.

Lopez is the massive favorite over Claggett while Rodriguez is the chalk against Estrada.

Which fighters get it done on June 29?

Check out boxing odds, analysis, and free picks for five of Saturday’s top bouts.

Robeisy Ramirez -1200 vs Brandon Leon Benitez +650

Brandon Leon Benitez is a good boxer.

For sure, Ramirez is the best pugilist Benitez has faced during the streak.

Robeisy heads into this off his second career loss.

Boxing Odds: Robeisy Ramirez

Teofimo Lopez -1000 vs Steve Claggett +550

WBO Junior Welterweight Title

Lopez versus Claggett is a huge mismatch.

Claggett has a great record. But the +550 underdog built his record by beating up poor fighters in Canada.

Teofimo is a world class boxer.

The -1000 favorite should have no trouble against Claggett.

Look for a KO prop before backing Teo on the moneyline. Also, this one should go under the total rounds.

Boxing Odds: Teofimo Lopez

Yamileth Mercado -280 vs Ramla Ali +215

Let’s give Ramla Ali props.

The +215 underdog in this lost via knockout to Jalissa Alejandra Guzman two fights ago.

All Ali did was bounce back in the rematch versus Guzman by winning a 10 rounds unanimous decision.

Yamileth Mercado is a big step up in class.

Mercado is 23-3 and hasn’t tasted defeat since Amanda Serrano beat her in 2021.

Yamileth should have no trouble handling Ali. The chalk prevails.

Boxing Odds: Yamileth Mercado

Sunny Edwards -400 vs Adrian Curiel +295

The underdog has a legit shot in this.

First, it’s important to note that although Sunny Edwards sports an awesome 20-1 record, Edwards has stopped just 4 opponents before the final bell.

Second, this fight happens in Glendale, Arizona where the Mexican born Curiel will have the fans behind the Britain born Edwards.

Third, Curiel is 24-5-1 and has fought much tougher boxers like Sivenathi Nontshinga.

The dog bites.

Boxing Odds: Adrian Curiel

Juan Francisco Estrada +330 vs Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez -450

WBC Junior Bantamweight Title

Two of the best bantamweights get it on for the WBC Junior title in DAZN’s main event.

Estrada has a ton of experience.

The dog in this has 44 wins, just 3 losses, and has knocked out 28 of his opponents.

On Saturday, Estrada fights the best fighter he’s ever battled. Bam Rodriguez is 19-0 with 12 stoppage wins.

Rodriguez can do it all. Bam beat Sunny Edwards via referee technical decision in his last.

The favorite wins.

Boxing Odds: Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez
