Canadian Football League Week 11 Betting Analysis & Picks

The CFL brings us three divisional games on Friday and Saturday, after a massive five-game slate last week. Toronto, Hamilton, and Calgary are all on bye weeks as we continue to enter the final leg of the regular season. Let’s have a look at the upcoming games so you can get ready to bet against the CFL Betting Odds.

2021 CFL Week 11 Betting Preview

Friday, October 15: Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Edmonton Elks

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers continue to show why they’re far and away the best team in the league, as the defending Grey Cup champs enter this game with an 8-1 record. Mike O’Shea’s team has won six straight and was absolutely dominant in their last game against Edmonton.

Winnipeg’s defense was suffocating the entire night, allowing only three points and causing three safeties. Running back Andrew Harris really wore out the Elks on the ground, rushing 24 times for 150 yards and two touchdowns. The Elks have been a mess all season long, and are well on their way to miss out on the postseason with only two wins to account for so far.

Winnipeg has played Edmonton two times already and has outscored the Elks 67-25. This game should be over by halftime.

The Pick: Winnipeg Blue Bombers 31 – Edmonton Elks 9

Saturday, October 16: Montreal Alouettes at Ottawa RedBlacks

Alouettes quarterback Vernon Adams lit up the RedBlacks in their first matchup but was shut down by Ottawa in the rematch this past week. To make matters worse, Adams was injured with just over two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, and probably won’t be starting in this game.

Matthew Shiltz would be the Alouettes quarterback if Adams is unable to go. While he completed a game-winning drive this past Sunday against the RedBlacks, Ottawa will now have time to scheme around the former Butler Bulldog. Shiltz and RedBlacks QB Caleb Evans are both in the same tier of CFL passers, so I’ll side with the better defense in Ottawa.

Montreal is currently listed as 6.5 point favorites, but Ottawa’s recent surge in play and Adams undetermined health status is surely enough to pick them to squeak out a win as a home underdog.

The Pick: Ottawa RedBlacks 17 – Montreal Alouettes 16

Saturday, October 16: Calgary Stampeders at BC Lions

This is a game that features two teams going in totally opposite directions. The Stamps have won three out of their last four, while the Lions have dropped two straight after a 4-2 start to the season.

After a sluggish start to the year, the Stamps are back to their winning ways and Bo Levi Mitchell is starting to look like the former MOP that he was. Calgary’s defense has looked much sharper these last few games, and BC’s offense remains one-dimensional as they have little to push rushing attack. The Lions’ offense has heavily leaned on receiver Lucky Whitehead this season, but he took a big hit in a Week 9 game against Winnipeg and suffered broken bones in his hand that will keep him sidelined for this game.

Calgary comes into this matchup as a slight favorite but should pull away in the second half and win by more than one score when it’s all said and done.

The Pick: Calgary Stampeders 27 – BC Lions 14
