Edmonton Eskimos vs B.C. Lions

Week 5 kicks off on Thursday, July 11 when the B.C. Lions host the Edmonton Eskimos. British Columbia is 1-3 at home this season. They’re also 1-3 against the spread. Other trends tell us the Eskimos can take this on the moneyline. The Lions are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games in Week 5, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 versus the West, and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall.

These two battled on June 21. The Lions rushed out to a lead, but Edmonton got back in the game quickly. The Eskimos should take this on the moneyline. Edmonton beat B.C. 39-23. That’s the play. Eskimos straight up.

Toronto Argonauts vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers

  • 2019 CFL Week 5 Odds: TBA

Oddsmakers are having a hard time coming up with a betting line because Toronto is so awful and Winnipeg is a decent squad. The Argonauts allow an average of 38 points per game from 523 yards per. They only score 12.7 points on average.

Winnipeg is 3-0 SU and ATS. The Blue Bombers average 30 points and allow 19.3 per. Winnipeg should have no trouble beating Toronto. They should also cover no matter the spread because they’re 9-2 ATS overall and 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 games following an ATS win.

CFL Betting Pick: Winnipeg Blue Bombers

Montreal Alouettes vs Ottawa Redblacks

  • 2019 CFL Week 5 Odds: TBA

This is an interesting matchup between a 1-2 straight up team, Montreal, and a 1-2 against the spread team, Ottawa. Montreal is only 1-2 SU. They’re 2-1 ATS. Ottawa is 2-1 SU. They’re 1-2 ATS.

What do the trends tell us? Montreal has gone 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games in Week 5. That’s the only cold trend, though. The Alouettes are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 versus the East, 8-2 ATS in their last 10 on the road, and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 following an ATS win.

Ottawa is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 versus the East. They’re also 2-6 ATS in their last 8 versus a team with a losing record. Not only that, but the Alouettes are coming off a huge 36-29 win versus Hamilton on July 4. They’ve got great momentum heading into this contest.

CFL Betting Pick: Montreal Alouettes

Calgary Stampeders vs Hamilton Tiger-Cats

  • 2019 CFL Week 5 Odds: TBA

At first glance, it’s hard to look past Hamilton’s 29-36 loss to Montreal in their last. A deeper dig gives us some clues as to why it happened. First, the Tiger-Cats had beaten Montreal 41-10 in the game right before the loss. Hamilton had to have gone into the second game somewhat overconfident, right?

Second, the Tiger-Cats battled the Alouettes knowing that 11 days later loomed a massive matchup versus Grey Cup defending champion Calgary. Hamilton had their sights set on this game, not the one versus Montreal.

Hamilton is 3-1 SU and ATS this season. They rank first in point per game at 39.2. They rank first in points allowed per game at 19.2. Calgary gives up too many points on average, 24.2, to keep this one close. Hamilton covers.

CFL Betting Pick: Hamilton Tiger-Cats
